I'm new to this site and I appreciate what I have read here so far. I have a question related to my old farmall 130 that I am restoring. I assume that it is a negative ground electric system, but I just wanted to be sure. Thank You

My grandpa has a 1956 Farmall with the Rockford clutch (serial #5036J) and I'm trying to sell it for him. The problem is, I know absolutely nothing about tractors and even less when it comes to pricing them. I'll post some pics of what I have and if there is anything ya'll can tell me about it...

Any tricks to gapping the points on a Farmall 130? I know they get set to .020, but I can't get the engine to stop at TDC (top of the lobe) to gap them. I don't have a crank and can't turn the engine by hand. It had no spark and wouldn't start, I checked voltage everywhere and it's good...

I mentioned this before, after a good hour run, there is some coolant bubbling out of the head gasket on the right hand side. I spoke with the my buddy who did the rebuild, it has been doing this on/off for 10 years, and even stopped for a long while. I'm probably using it harder than he did...

Well, she was DOA when I went out to harrow last weekend, so I dug into the problem. Measured 6V+ across the battery, starter on or off... hmmm, measured 6V/0V across the starter starter on/off. Cleaned the negative terminal at the battery (the one I take off after each run because I was told...

Surprisingly, no 'real' damage to the engine main castings.. the head got new seats and all and was fine.

They had the governor wired open... she eventually swallowed a valve after untold thousands of hours of use...

Gotta love that muffler job...

As several people commented when I last posted a picture of my 'new' 1957 Farmall 130, the rear tires are VERY shot. I can order new tires (11.2x24 road/traction) off the internet for about $200 each including shipping, the question is, is pulling the old ones and mounting the new ones doable...

I dont know squat about old tractors but tonight I saw a gut hauling a Farmall 130 down the road. It was pretty slick looking. In fact it looked like the worlds first Cut. Anyone have one of Theese ? I just curious what years they were made and how many ponies were under the hood. Dave
