Need a bearing for my snowblower

While inspecting my 3pt blower today, I noticed that I have what appears to be a ruined bearing on the (non-drive) end of the auger. How do I deal with this? (I know, "replace the bearing"). I've never replaced a bearing, so I'm wondering, how do I describe it to the counter person when I...

Question for 1533 (and related) owners

I'd like to add rear remotes to my 1533 without going the dealer route ($$). I've read a couple of great posts here about tying into the loader valve to 3pt hydraulic connection but the one piece of the puzzle I'm missing is the location of the return plug. I've read it's on the RHS of the...

Rear remote for Massey Ferguson 1533

I'm not even sure what to look for. I don't think there are any other ports on the valve but it's in a tight spot. The dealer said something to the effect of the rear valve being a "sandwich" valve or something like that. Hooks right up to the trans case. There do appear to be a couple of ports...

Rear remote for Massey Ferguson 1533

Is it possible to add a set of remotes to this tractor without going the dealer route (nearly $2000)? Would like to add two remotes to the rear and (wishlist) one to the FEL for future use.

Snowblower shaft looks keyed in place

So I was out changing the oil in my snowblower's gearbox yesterday and I noticed that, where the pto shaft connects to the gearbox shaft, it's not only held in place with the shear pin/bolt, but it's also held in place with a big square key (see red arrow in pic). Wondering if I should remove...

    Another possible hydraulic issue

Hey folks, So after my tractor (MF 1533) got a new power steering return hose, all seemed well. I noticed though, that the hydraulic fluid level always seemed to be dropping (no apparent leaks, tractor was level when I checked). I add more, then the next day I use it, it's down again. Add a...

    Boxblade or Scraper Blade?

Wondering what the difference is between the two? Why choose one over the other?

    Snowblower gearbox oil

This is the gearbox in question. I thought there were two ports, but it appears there's just one upturned and capped. So, what do I do with this thing? I see no drain plug on the bottom either. How would I know which gear oil to use - 75 or 90? There appears to be no info placard on this thing.

    Snowblower gearbox oil

Last year, I picked up a well-used McKee 6' snowblower. It works well enough, even though it's seen some abuse in its days. Looks like there's fill and drain holes on the site of the gearbox (not in very convenient positions, I might add), so would I just add oil till it flows out the fill...

    Problem with hydraulics

It's a synchroshuttle. I had let it run for about 15 mins and still got nothing. I also saw nothing in the manual about bleeding the hydraulics (I was looking... maybe I'm blind? Page #?) A poster in the hydraulic section mentioned about bleeding the hydraulics and mentioned a bleeder...

    Problem with hydraulics

Tried that last night. Saw what I believe to be the bleeders (attached pic). I loosened the one on the left, started the tractor, saw some little bubbles escape (no real mess), shut her down, tightened, restarted and still nothing.

    Problem with hydraulics

Hey folks Tractor is a Massey Ferguson MF1533. The other day, I was cleaning up some dead trees and such. I was approaching a brush pile with a load to add and seemed to have run into a branch that pinched the oil return hose from the power steering motor. Oil was gushing everywhere! I managed...

Need Source for Rear Remotes for MF 1533

I called my local Massey dealer today to get some pricing on the rear remote kit for my 1533. Apparently, they only have a dual remote kit and it's $1887! Is that all? I replied to the salesmen. LOL Apparently, since the kit was transferred from sales to parts, it's gone up in price by around...
