    Just purchased a farm

Don't buy a backhoe attachment for the tractor. For the same money, get a dedicated used excavator.

Front-End Loader Cutting edge vs. Tooth Bar on the Bucket???

I wanted a bolt-on tooth bar for my 72" bucket but was quoted $700 after taxes. I ended up buying a brand new 72" bucket with a weld-on replaceable teeth from a local fabricator shop for $800. Much quicker to swap with a quick attached.

    Land Prep/House Build

Very exciting. I was in the same boat 1 year ago, in Pittsburgh area too. Wife and I looked everywhere and didn't see the land you bought. We ended up buying 9 acres just outside of Cranberry and built the house, moved in in September of 2010. You'll have a great time building the...

    BH92 Owners Take Note

FYI for BH92 owners: I was contacted by my dealer few weeks ago. Apparently Kubota connected hydraulic hoses backwards on some units at the factory. They have serial numbers of suspect units. If yours is one of them, they will come out and correct the problem for free. Since it was my first...

Difficult shifting to LO on L3940

I got a call back from the dealer. They agreed it's difficult to shift into LO. They also said it gets easier as the tractor warms up, which I don't agree since I as having problems after 30 minutes of hauling heavy gravel. They suggested that I let it warm up before trying to shift to Lo. So I...

Difficult shifting to LO on L3940

Philip, I did try it but did NOT work. In fact, I was not able to get it in LO at all before the dealer picked it up. FYI, clutch did not make any difference. I will update as I hear from the dealer. Thanks all.

Difficult shifting to LO on L3940

Thanks for the responses. It's a bit odd that the manual says the pedal has to be in neutral but also has you pushing forward/reverse to get the gears meshing.

Difficult shifting to LO on L3940

My L3940 has less than 10 hours. However, it's difficult to shift into LO range on the hydro. I've tried blurping the throttle, moving the FEL joystick, etc. It's been a tad difficult when I bought it, but wouldn't go in for almost 40 minutes this week. Dealer is picking it up for a looksie...

    cab with backhoe

My understanding is if you have the type 3 tractor, the new backhoe will fit. But the new backhoe isn't too widely available yet. I think they are looking at around May for the public, but could be wrong. For example, new BH92 will fit the type 3 variant. Be sure to confirm with a...

    New purchase and BH availability

Good news! Dealer just called me to let me know that Kubota will send him one. He said he begged. I am so excited. I believe the differences are the ability to add a thumb, the subframe is changed to allow use with cab models and possibly curved boom, I don't know all the details. I will post...

    New purchase and BH availability

When shopping, I verified with the dealer that the new updated model of Kubota backhoe attachment (BH92 is new, BH90 is current) was readily available. They did not have one in stock but he checked with Kubota before telling me this. So I signed the papers on the tractor, loader and the...
