The AGCO name is short for, Allis Gleaner Corporation.

Their factory is in Findland. They have a factory in Brazil also, but I do not know if they build engines there Chuck M.

The larger tractors are all going to Sisu (Valtra) engines, even the Massey's, under 100hp will have Sisu engines in the future. The Challenger (Cat), I am told, will be the only tractor with Perkins, now owned by Cat. Chuck M. Has anyone heard about Agco buying a factory in China??

Jerry- Perkins does have a small compact engine. Do you think that Caterpiller will have that put in their compact tractors? Chuck M.

The engine in the tractor is a Perkins, several years ago Cat bought Perkins, and when they install them in a Challenger tractor Cat give them one of there own (Caterpillar) identification. Chuck M.

Re: AGCO\'s new site is up....... Woodbeef-You don't think if it would lower the cost of building the tractor, that would'nt tempt them to use the Sisu engine?? Everyone is trying to lower their costs these days, and it is being said by AGCO and Valtra, one of the main reason for the purchase...

Re: AGCO\'s new site is up....... Woodbeef-I had a dealer tell me that Valtra would still operate as a seperate division(Valtra USA). Do you think that's true? If they do I'll bet eventually it will come under the same umbrella. Also I wonder if the Sisu (spell?) engine will be used to replace...
