The alternator is a fixed magnet type and must have a rectifier in it because I get a DC voltage reading directly from it. The tractor also has a voltage regulator with a 6 prong connection.

The 3 cylinder Dae Dong engine runs without the key switch being on. I suspect this is a voltage regulator problem but am not sure.

My tractor doesn't shut down when I turn the key off so it's the same as yours in that way. I guess what I am hearing is that if I only see the battery charging when the key is off it could be detrimental because the voltage isn't being regulated, and I need a new Rew regulator. Is that right? Ppl

Here is the situation I've checked the voltage at the battery before starting and it's at 12.5 V so that's good. When I start the tractor the voltage at the battery reads the same; however if I turn off the electrical switch an leave the tractor running I get 13 V. What might be going on?

I'm having a heck of a time getting a new fan belt for my lb1914. I was wondering if anybody has tried using variable length fan belt such as an Acculink? I know the oem FB is not as wide, but think the pulleys may accommodate the wider Acculink.

My battery has been running down and I checked the generator which was bad and installed a new one. The voltage now registers 13.6 volts so it's working, but the dash idiot light for charging won't go off when the tractor is running. What might cause this to happen?
