Garden tractors? At a cross roads, need some other heads to bounce ideas with

I would say that my BX2200 has been great(usually)... it does enough around my 10 acres and can plow snow, mow grass, etc. It doesn't do as good a job in mowing as a 0 turn but... yeah, i'm not sure even what to say to be honest. When I got mine(back in the day) there were some 0 percent...

Most economical way to move tractor to dealer

In Maryland the local Kubota people also went from $200 to $450. I do think they just don't want to be bothered picking up and delivering so they make the price high so you figure out something else. That was for a BX2200 so not real large and the dealer is about 20 miles away.

Thanks -- they did work well.

    BX2200 -- will almost start

I got another part.. it is all good . Of course when I plugged it in I noticed a fuse had blown so started wondering.. was that the issue with the other part.. no the other part was wired wrong.

    BX2200 -- will almost start

I'll check today.. thanks for the help... I really want to just send it back and say.. fix the part. Yes it was from that place and the amazon reviews(all just disappeared).. hmmm

    BX2200 -- will almost start

reviews on a few of the solenoids said they were wired wrong from the factory. I couldn't find my allegator clips so didn't try others but I did leave some reviews :-)

    BX2200 -- will almost start

first part arrived.. starts right up.. but then shuts right down.. the plungers goes right back down when the key is in the running position :-(

    BX2200 -- will almost start

Yeah, the last time i did the OEM one.. and one of the reasons I figured it would last longer hence my.. it sure as heck isn't that.. it's OEM and new. it is super easy to replace and at least I've gone over everything else fuel and starter wise :-) Honestly, it seems like a fantastic "manual...

    BX2200 -- will almost start

any good source for "better parts" I got one from the dealer and one from an online place.. either way I'm annoyed at the quality of this part. Or.. maybe there is a part that I can manually manipulate. :-)

    BX2200 -- will almost start

OK, I got it running tonight.. bottom line == most people were right Stop/Start Fuel Solonoid It was a different symptom than before so yeah, I assumed that wasn't the problem(plus I've replaced it twice and I only have 1000 hours on the tractor -- it -fing can't be that). It was.. on the...

    BX2200 -- will almost start

A followup... 1) I took out the glow plugs(they all tested at 1.3 ohms) == they are good. 2) I then connected them to the bar and twisted the key so that the glow plug light was on. They did not get warm at all.. so it may be a wiring issue. I could have sworn that I tested that connection...

    BX2200 -- will almost start

I did check the air filter and I didn't do botth fuel filters I did the one and made sure it was pumping fuel pretty well. Is the "fuel solonoid" near the start stop one?

    BX2200 -- will almost start

I did reach out to the Kubota Dealer and they seem to be leaning toward the ignition switch or a wiring issue as well. Also suggested the timer but doubted that and i hate throwing parts at something. I'll probably trace wiring later today.

    BX2200 -- will almost start

I can pop that off(pretty easy overall) wasn't what I saw in the past. Usually it wouldn't even start to turn over. But, that will have to be tomorrow :-)

    BX2200 -- will almost start

I've replaced that before and usually it was a "click" but wouldn't even turn over.

    BX2200 -- will almost start

i have checked the fuel as much as I know how and it seems pretty good.. when I loosen that nut it just comes out pretty well, just pours out when trying to start. I'm going to test the glow plugs next. The local shop says they are a wear out item and after 20 years and 1000+ hours it may be time.

    BX2200 -- will almost start

Yes I did.. and it was running last week. I use it for mowing and I used it last Monday, went out on FRiday and it wouldn't start(fully).. figured.. darn it battery(it was 5 years old) got a new battery, cleaned up the connections.. but didn't start. Then I checked fuel(made sure it was...

    BX2200 -- will almost start

I'll give a few of those a try, I didn't run out of fuel just checked things out.. but maybe something.. should I turn it past the glo plug piece? I assume yes. I did give that a shot, I did hear the glo-plug clicking but not sure about the electirc fuel pump.. i did "smell something like...

    BX2200 -- will almost start

I actually replaced that first(it's in good shape right now). I thought that was the problem because it was 5 years old.

I had done that I've loosened the nut and while starting I don't see any air just flows out.

    BX2200 -- will almost start

The tractor will "almost start" will puff smoke out of the front exhaust, will crank and "almost" fire all the way. I have a little over 1000 hours on it and it is about 20 years old. 1) I checked the fuel(it is coming out fine when I turn the key) fuel filters seem ok. 2) Air filter is ok 3)...

Do you take it to the dealer for maintenance or do it yourself.

I remember when I said.. hmmm.. there are a few things that I'm not 100% about and the tractor hit 1000 hours. I'll take it to the dealer and have them "detail and check it out" Came back.. wasn't fixed properly, 6 months later same issues because of that. Most regular service I do it myself...

    BX2200 Thermostat

Yes, I just had to be more patient tracing the wires. One wire that was near the front, by the stop solenoid was it. Of course I didn't find this until I pulled quite a few things off.... because.. of course I put those back on. :-)

    BX2200 Thermostat

I'm getting no reading from the thermostat of the BX2200. I did just replace the Stop Solenoid. I don't see anything that I missed putting back(everything seems to work fine). Didn't want to go get another thermostat if it's just a wire that I missed but I don't see anything and all the fuses...

Snow Equipment Owning/Operating Snow Plow rubber edge vs steel

I was just wondering, I've had mine for about 8 years and noticed that this year the "rear blade" just isn't cleaning like it used to. Might I need to replace it or adjust it somehow that I'm missing? It's always just leaving a little bit of snow which then turns to ice unless I salt it.

    Warranty Work, Distribution, Better Understanding!

I agree it doesn't seem like it should be hard to do. The techs are fine, the parts dept. is fine but the person who does the scheduling. Doesn't ever call back, I began calling in March, it's not work stopping so waited a week, never got a call, called again. Kept this up until May when a...

    Warranty Work, Distribution, Better Understanding!

I agree, I went with the Kubota because of the price and I like the local dealer. I liked some of the other dealers as well. They were great to work with when I was buying the tractor. Of course Service is a whole other issue. At the dealer I bought mine from I somehow was able to talk to...

I also just got a rear blade and the first snow I started with the FEL just off the ground and with the blade facing forward and noticed that I was sliding a bit. Then I rememberd seeing some people around here going backwards. So I said what the heck try it. I reversed the blade and it...

Oil & Fuel Gas in my Diesel Engine!!

Well since I had 50 hours I decided to do the whole service. I also talked to a guy at worked that used to work on a lot of diesel engines. His take, since I only put maybe 1/2 gallon in I might be ok to just put more diesel in and run it but to be safe take off the fuel filters and drain the...

Oil & Fuel Gas in my Diesel Engine!!

Ok, hate to say it but I did it tonight, in a hurry picked up the wrong can. I only did maybe 1/4 to 1/2 gallon in my BX2200 but noticed it losing poiwer, went back to the shed and yep, I used the wrong can, I even have a yellow one. Now it's not much regular gas and it didn't run long...

    Snow  BX2200 and Snow

Yep, I know it's early and I didn't get a plow when I got the tractor, figured I could get it later. Now that I'm thinking of it what would I need to get. I have a FEL for the big snows but most of what we get in Maryland is the 2-6 inch type. I think that a manual blade would work great...

BX2200 and Woods M5 Daisey Cutter

Someone at work is selling and I was was wondering if the BX2200 could handle it. I've got about 4 acres I could use it on as well as some path clearing. It's 5 foot cat 1 w/ 540 RPM PTO. Used they want 300 and it's has new shaft bearing seals. I'm kinda new to tractoring and the BX2200...

Ok, I'm new to the 2200 and was wondering if it is possible to lower the mowing deck w/out lowering the rear hitch. I was working with a box blade over the weekend and saw an area that I wanted to cut real quick and couldn't see a way to lower the mmm and not lower the rear box blade. Is it...

    BX 2200 FEL

I hate to admit it but I kinda did the same thing :-) My arms weren't parallel but they were close, just close enough to get the hoses connectd so I was able to get it working. I think that if you pull the tractor inside the arms you should be able to get the hoses connected, there is probably...
