    Tractor Winch Weight

Appreciate the input, I emailed kubota about a front end loader increasing the capacity but haven’t heard back. I would hope that an 8k winch would be more than capable to pull out a 3,800lb log but I’ll definitely ask! Anyone familiar with the clutches? Looks like the Krpan and Fransgard have a...

    Tractor Winch Weight

Thanks guys, that lumber weight calculator is a cool tool. I’m certainly aware of the side pull danger and aware of dragging the logs out on a hillside, I will winch it extra times if I have to rather than risk it. The Krpan also has 230’ of wire compared to 160 ish of the Igland/fransgard...

    Tractor Winch Weight

I know there are lots of threads on these but I was looking for input on the weight of the units. I’m looking at getting a 4 ton winch, debating between an Igland, KRPAN, and a Fransgard. They are all priced similarly and the Igland is 573lbs, KRPAN 847lbs, and Fransgard 657lbs. I’m going...

    Plowing Mishap

Good to know! Right now I just have a clevice attaching the plow to the mount but I’m thinking this summer I might modify it to give it some side to side play

    Plowing Mishap

On that setup would it work to just bore out the three holes for the pins connecting the mount and that would give more side to side movement? Would probably wear out the pins after a while but I’m sure there are ways to help with that

    Plowing Mishap

Here’s an update to what I did to beef up the quick attach plate. I’ve plowed 5 or 6 times so far this year and it has worked great as far as the connection goes! I’ve had some issues with the hydraulics, I’ve had trouble with one piston working, I will be able to tilt it all the way to the...

    Plowing Mishap

Yeah I had the plow a few feet off the ground when I was pushing the snow bank back which is why the quick attach plate gave out and bent instead of the trip edge on the plow. I bent the plate back today and here are some pictures of the fit on the tractor. I’m going to weld some channel or...

    Plowing Mishap

I like the pallet fork idea, I don’t have a set but I have been wanting to get some. Anything in particular to watch out for when buying pallet forks? I’ll do some research on here too. Thanks

Or I guess maybe some links to some other threads with setups that have worked for people?

    Plowing Mishap

Yeah I should’ve known better, I got the plate off Craigslist and should’ve paid more attention to the thickness beforehand, you live and learn I guess. I was a little too excited to try it out, I’ve been plowing with a bucket for years and it takes forever. I’m going to bend it back and beef it...

    Plowing Mishap

Here are some pictures of the plate and the plow. You can see in one of the pictures how much of a gap there is to the floor. I think what happened is there was so much pressure when I was pushing the snow bank back, that the plate gave out. It fit just fine when I first hooked it up but the...

    Plowing Mishap

First time poster… I’ve been trying to get ahold of a plow for my driveway as I’ve been using the bucket and it takes forever. I finally got one last weekend and got all the hydraulics and everything set up for this storm that the northeast was hit with the last couple of days. Anyways I took my...
