I found the origin of the pump noise, the pump coupler splines have worn down to nothing. The coupler I have t22915 is for tractors: 2030, 2440 s/n -340999, 2630, 2640 s/n -340999, 300B, 302A, 401. I'm supposed to have t22914. I wonder if the pump is from one of those models? I ended...

yes same valve is in the bottom passage which connects to the transmission sump. I think when the filter is clogged it pushes 28 down and flows to transmission. the mystery valve would block that flow. Correction I think 28 is surge valve.

Jd400 Pump started to whine while using the backhoe. Figured Id try do full service before I burn up the pump if I havent already. In the oil filter housing was a valve that doesn't appear to me to belong there. I have service manual and part diagrams but both show filter housing different...

Do you have part# for #11 oil seal? Could you recommend where to get the parts catalog from? I see ones on ebay but they only cover the tractor.

I replaced those seals a few months ago. Do you know if its normal for the wheels to turn without steering input? (Example) one wheels goes over a rock and causes wheels to turn max steering angle. I think that's what contributed to the shaft breaking.

Here's the finished repair. Ended up breaking the pin pressing it out so I had to turn a new one. The pin is 1.75 x .621.

I found the replacement part. Thankfully I won't need to try repair it.

Can i cap off the hydraulic inlet line at the steering wheel base. I have a seal kit ordered but I'd like to use tractor as I just got it.
