Thanks for commenting. I'll tighten those up today.....but I'm with sawyer rob ...I feel like running away from this one. I'm going to feel uneasy every time i use the unit. If they loosened that soon after use being brand new seems like it will happen all the time. Not sure if I want to keep it...

Got this brand new woods 5ft tiller on and used it for about 40 minutes and 2 tines on the same plate came loose. As you can see in picture the tine has slipped out of between the plates exposing a hole in the tine that once back in place has no place for a second bolt. Someone said they never...

Thanks for the replies...yup something don't seem right...thats my luck i guess. I think im going to place it back into position and try tightening the bolts, there are two of them loose like that on same plate... and will probably contact my dealer.

I have no experience with a pto tiller so I never thought about that until you mention it ....that doesn't make sense to only rely on one bolt to withstand continuous impact with the soil. But if you see there in the picture the tine is out of position. If I swing it to the right ...back into...

I checked and there is only 1 bolt per tine, so im a little confused esp as there is that extra hole which im guessing is for using for different positioning or rotation of the times....

Yes I checked the gear boxes and they were full I will check the tines that are not loose and compare.

Here is a picture of the tine. Do you think its just gotten loose and needs tightened up? or is there something broken? The bolt doesnt seem broke, and why is there the extra hole? ... Its only been used for about 40 minutes...thanks

I did not grease the u joints but i will be now to make sure they are greased. thanks for commenting

Thanks to everyone that commented. I finally got out there to give it a good looking over keeping in mind the comments of this post and found that I have 2 tines on same plate that are loose. Not sure why that would happen the soil i was in was pretty soft. Can't find much on the fix for this...
