Can't shorten PTO shaft because of metal collar?

I don't think so. It's a "knub" of some sort but not a screw. Even if it was, the epoxy would hold it tight. Weird part is I noticed when I slid the shafts back together there is a window open to the plastic piece on both if the shaft is fully compressed. Pic attached. Not sure why they'd leave...

Can't shorten PTO shaft because of metal collar?

That's what I'm thinking...if I cut it to where I need it, there's still some metal collar left...if all its meant to do is center the plastic shield from the other side then it'll still do its job.

Can't shorten PTO shaft because of metal collar?

I agree, not sure why there's a metal piece and plastic though but when I put the shaft back together it seems like it centers the smaller OD plastic shield so that it doesn't have any play. If I cut to where I need to, there will still be some of the metal collar left so I guess as long as I...

Can't shorten PTO shaft because of metal collar?

Hi everyone. I purchased an Agrimetal BW 1600 (PTO blower) for my BX2380 a few weeks ago. Everything looks great but I'm having trouble with cutting the shaft. I measured it up and found I need to take about 5.5" off. Of course, I need to take that off both metal shafts and both plastic...

    New BX2380 fluid leak?

Service tech came today. Super nice guy and very helpful. Walked me through everything I should keep and eye on and do before my 50 hour service as he was performing the service (regular greasing, filters, checking axle fluid, etc.). He said Kubota has acknowledged an issue with the quick...

    New BX2380 fluid leak?

Thanks, I'll definitely save that for future reference. In the meantime, I emailed the dealer last night with the pictures and explanation. Got a call this morning - no questions asked, they're sending a service tech to fix Friday morning. Thanks everyone for confirming my suspicions. Hopefully...

    New BX2380 fluid leak?

Yeah, I figured I'd check on the forums first to make sure I wasn't imagining a problem that wasn't but I'll probably give them a call tomorrow.

    New BX2380 fluid leak?

Thanks, I'll give that a try tomorrow. Thing is, its brand new. I played around with it for 15 minutes but its never been uncoupled so I can't image its too dirty. I might call the dealer if it looks to be a different issue.

    New BX2380 fluid leak?

Hi everyone, First off, big thanks to all of the contributors on this forum. I've been lurking here for a couple of months now doing my research and deciding what I wanted before diving into my first real tractor. I settled on the BX2380 which I had delivered about 2.5 weeks ago. Now to the...
