    Appreciate the advice piper184. I don’t think it is in the drive shaft but I guess it is possible. The popular break, behind the drive shaft engagement balls, seems to be an axle shaft. With a broken shaft wouldn’t you still have power being sent to the unbroken side?

    Thanks. To answer your questions… either front wheel raised in 4wd and in gear either front wheel will turn. The drive shaft will “jump” but does not turn. The front drive shaft will not turn with all 4 wheels on the ground.

    I got the courage to pry a little harder and was able to walk the cylinder out, just like the photos above show. The o-ring came out with a tear in it so I hope a new one will fix the leak. To answer your question, mine is leaking between the cap and tank. The adjustment screw is not leaking...

    How to read the dipstick?

    Nortrac 254. Probably a silly question but how are the screw-in dipsticks for the front axle, transmission...etc meant to be read? Do you screw them all them all the way in to read or just stick them in to the top of the first thread?

    Nortrac 254 injection pump oil overfilled
