Fabricated tail light brackets - MF 135

Thought I'd post how happy I am with the LED fog lamps. The tail lights are run of the mill trailer lights, I've put a flasher in-line so I can use them as either running lights or flashers. Fog lights are on a separate circuit. They sure do light things up with minimal draw on the electrics...

    Let it snow

I spent most of my youth in north-eastern New Brunswick in the 60s and 70s (Mirimachi). Back in those days snow arrived in October and left in April. None of this cold and then warm, snow and then rain or freezing rain and then back to snow. I can remember the police driving through the...

MF 1660 - thoughts after only 20 hours use

Made it home to get some work done, had to put up a new barn and that meant taking down a few trees, moving stumps / roots and debris. Had someone come in with a hoe to remove the stumps. I've used the tractor mostly to move / level dirt and manure, move building materials /sheds around...

    Stable / hay storage build

Made it home recently for three weeks. Drove the 1600 kms (1000 miles) in one day, didn't want to spend too much time on the road. It was a busy three weeks but I can't honestly remember enjoying time with my family more. My wife and two daughters were right there with me when they weren't...

    New 1660 Cab

Fifteen or so years of plowing snow / moving manure and hauling logs with our old open station 135 and no regrets. I will say it will be nice to have the option to crawl into a warm cab, listen to some music and drink a warm drink without snow and ice forming around the lip of my cup for a...

Anyone know anything about upcoming changes to the MF line-up?

I've read about potential changes this Fall here on TBN, dealers aren't saying much (but aren't denying it either) and so far I haven't been able to find anything to read outside of this Forum. Anyone have anything more they can add?

Comparing servicing costs between gear / Shuttle and Dyna transmissions

I've read quite a few posts about the intervals and costs associated with servicing HST transmissions but not much on geared, synchro-shuttle or Dyna QPS transmissions. Was wondering if anyone could provide some insight into Intervals / materials / costs for servicing their newer tractors.

    Changes in MF 2013 line

I've tried to find anything regarding possible changes to the 2013 line of tractors offered by MF, so far no luck. I've even written to a dealer I've spoken to in the past, everyone seems to be keeping things pretty close to their chest. There have been a few posts alluding to possible lines...

    Your first overhaul project

Dad traded an old arc welder for a '64 Pontiac Laurentian, the motor was blowing oil badly and the mains were gone. I was 15, was wet sanding and taping cars at his body shop for $20 a vehicle (good money in 77'). He gave the car to me and told me I'd have to buy all the parts and he'd help me...

    MF site has the 1526

Site shows the 1526, 1528 is not on the list of tractors to review but it does still show up on their spec sheets. Have seen 1526 prices on tractorhouse around 16K. Anyone had the opportunty to sit on one and put it to the test at a dealer yet?

Asking for anything special this Xmas.....

Last year my kids got me a new spring suspension seat to replace the stock steel pan and cushion on my 135, has been a god send. This year I'm thinking a second set of flood lights to help see during some of the winter weather I plow in.

Buying Advice  Keeping my 135, need something primarily for snow removal

I have a 135 that I will keep mostly for working in the woods, it's more than paid for itself in the 11 years I've had it. The subdivision I live in are all large lots, 4-5 acres on average, and is situated on a private gravel road. I had the contract for snow removal for the first 5 years we...

    1528 PTO seal leaking

Friends 1528 PTO seal is leaking pretty badly. Looking at the shaft he uses for his tiller he needs to cut it, far too long. Does anyone have a breakdown for the PTO shaft bearing / seal replacement (I think we're going to have to replace the bearing as well). Thanks.

    66 MF 135 clutch

Clutch will only disengage after I put it in high gear, holding the brakes. Dirty plate? I've been on it for most of the day so I will take a better look at it tomorrow. Seems like the plate is sticking, decrease in spring tension on the pedal until the clutch releases. Intermittent right...

MF 135, no FEL, no problem......

Took a break from the heat, getting too hot to handle 600-800 plus pound logs by hand, good thing my old MF 7' blade can take the weight (with me on the tractor for the larger ones, no front weight). Dropped these in mid-April, still quite wet. Wasn't sure of the setup of the mill a friend...

    2009 DK35SE Question

Hello all, I've found TBN to be an excellent place to get a feel for how people like their machines, brand loyalty aside. I'll admit I'm a MF guy but having stopped off at a Kioti dealer near me yesterday and taking a look at a DK35SE he has on the lot, I have to say I'm impressed! Built...

    MF 1600 series question

Hello, I"m looking for a second tractor, currently have a 135. Looking at the 1600 series they seem well engineered but I found myself wondering whether the rear axle housings looked a little less substantial than they could be (photos only). I haven't been able to find any literature that...

    Finally logged in!

Hello everyone, have been a fan of this forum for some time, have learned a lot and am looking forward to learning more. I live in Nova Scotia, Canada. My wife and I have a small horse farm on 4 acres. It was a wooded lot that my 1966 MF 135 and I cleared, skidded and browed logs that I had...

    Buying Advice  FEL for a 1966 MF135

Hi - have been reading threads on this forum for some time now, have learned a lot that's helped me maintain my MF135. I have a small horse farm and am thinking about a FEL for the old girl. It's a 1966 4 cyl gas and I am concerned that the front end may not take the weight of a FEL. Is the...
