I can't believe this, but my big cast iron front axel P/N 759-3549 just plain broke! Anyone have one behind the barn? CC 1860-1864 and maybe 1870 and others.
CAn't weld cast iron; at least I can't.

The ones on front of deck (782 through 1863 at least) used to engage the lifting fork on the lift frame? The Florida Lawna and Garden site I relied on for exploded views and part numbers has changed and I am SOL.

I know, it's a dumb question. But on the 1860 I got for $700 with 700 hrs, it looks like there is a lot of transmission case ABOVE the filter. Can I be sure if I remove the filter to change it I won't get a lot of expensive fluid on the floor?

Does anyone know if there are different types of belt tension springs on an MTD Cub deck? My deck has only one number plate: 44U1111. I don't have a manual for the deck; it is from a CC 1860. Looking for part number.
