I will be purchasing a WIX 33972 (5/16" inline 50 micron plastic mesh) diesel fuel filter for future use. Because some stores only carry Fram products, I did a Fram search and found they recommended a paper gas filter as a cross reference. Does cause one to question other product cross references.
