I won an auction for a WoodMaxx 8H chipper yesterday. It looks like new. Must have been purchased to deal with the downed trees and limbs from our "ice storm of the century" this year; and it was no longer needed.

I have a brush pile that is over 30' in diameter and 7' tall to deal with plus I am having over 20 large trees removed that will add to the stuff that needs chipping. It will be a lot safer than burning and I can use the chips. I use anything larger than 4" as firewood so it this smaller unit will be adequate.

Got it for $2000 - just over 1/2 the price of a new one. Nice to have hydraulic infeed.

My neighbor wanted to go half on it with me, but I told him he can use the chipper whenever he needs it. He just bought a TYM with third function, and I told him he can use my grapple instead of buying one. Being able to use his tractor while chipping to power the chipper will make things quicker and easier. If I decide to sell it down the road I gave him right of first refusal.

He saves $1500-2500 on a grapple and we both get to work smarter instead of harder.

I received my WM-8H last week. I was skeptical that a non-commercial size chipper would work well enough not to aggravate me but I've been suitably impressed. It's eaten everything I've fed it up to about 5". I've got about 4 hours on it chipping mulberry, ash, and walnut.

Just remember you'll be swapping hydraulic fluid with his tractor, which may not be compatible with yours.
Nice of you to offer. Aren't good neighbors a blessing?
We have the same here.

That will be a minimal amount of fluid, as long as both tractors have been reasonable maintained it's a non issue.

Helped the neighbor with a little wood today. But it was just to hot. I only lasted a couple of hrs.

We did some more splitting on Saturday and finished up on Sunday morning. Again it was to hot. My neighbor put and umbrella on his splitter. I am going tp put one on my splitter this coming spring for when it is raining. TaDa.

Well, I have not been around much lately so I'm just stopping by to say hi! Had kind of a rough summer, got a few new scars. I had about 8 weeks I was restricted to picking up not more than 5 pounds, for reference a gallon of milk is about 8 pounds! Anyway, the doctors have released me from most restrictions and said I could play with my chainsaws again! So just a couple quick pics from today, can't do a lot but I'm working on it! Glad your back and it sounds like your improving which is the best part of recovery. It can be very frustrating when you stall. Remember, slow and steady wins the race.
