A faster tractor? Some of these bears can move pretty fast.

Yep, no compact tractor going to outrun a bear. One time I went out in my yard to sneak up closer to a black bear to get some pics and some leaves crunched under my foot. That thing took off running and went straight up a maple tree so fast it was at that moment I realized I'm never doing that again because no way you'd ever get away from it.

Now I just have a wolf that actually headbutts my truck.

I remember being near bears last year at Glacier Nat’l Park. I have seen bears a few times on past visits to the Rockies.
It freaked me out. When you are in the woods without a weapon, and there’s a bear close by, you realize they have all the cards.

Sounds like rabies. Makes normally shy animals overly aggressive and capable of attack.
I was laying on the ground under a tractor trying to make a repair when I heard a rushing sound through the grass. Next thing I know, a ground hog ran under the tractor and bit my work boot. lol
It was definitely rabid.

A few years ago I was brush hogging my back field when a red fox started attacking the tractors front wheel, middle of the day , came at the tractor about three or four times before I spun around to head back to the barn, I went right back out in the pickup with the 22, it was extremely mangy and I believe it was rabid, buried on the spot.

That tractor must have been slow, I do hope the man recovers quickly.
On the other hand I see few tractor mods in his future.

Not really "why" I carry a gun on my tractor, (have one in my pocket too!) but ... When you need a gun, there really isn't any other good substitute!

I'm working on a way to carry my 10" Thompson Center Contender in .222 in my cabbed Kubota ...

I’m getting some conceal carry training later this month. Our congregation is getting concerned about a crazy trans freak breaking in during one of our services.

This is the one reason I have considered re-applying for a concealed carry permit. I carried for many years when I was younger, but let the permit expire about 15 years ago, since I wasn't carrying anymore.

Trouble is, so many of the public gatherings where you think concealed carry might be most prudent, it's disallowed by metal detector.
