Afternoon all;
A blamy 70F and 80% Rh at 3:20PM today. Got a bit done this morning, installed a Retrax ProMX tonneau cover on my pickup this morning. Went with this one because I was looking for the most clearance under the cover. I have a nice 12 volt fridge/freezer that just fit under the cover on my 1500 RAM. Didn't even think about when getting this 2500, but the box itself is actually an inch shallower on the newer truck. My fridge was the same height as the bed rails and this cover seemed to have the most clearance. It might but it's still a half inch shy of working with the fridge/freezer :( damn. Then a run up for a DEX scan and now home and relaxing and catching up on my browsing.
Nice pictures Buckeye, I traveled and worked in much of the Western states. They are nice.
We went from drought to 5+inches of rain in the last day and a half.

Buckeye, I like your travel post. I stayed in all the states except 3. Alaska, Florida and Maine. I will probably never get to visit those 3. Still more than most people get to see. I can add several European countries to the list. Thanks for posting your trip.
Glad you enjoyed them.
Original plan was to return via the UP, and see more of the UP, and mackinaw again. Changed due to the rain up there. I try not to return the same way if I can.
Planning another trip all the way to Northwest, can skip some stuff now that we did this trip, but still takes 4-5 days each way to travel thru the fly over states..
I have 3 states to visit out west, Idaha, oregon, Nevada. Next trip destinations are Idaho, Crater Lake Oregon, Redwoods in Northern California, and something in Nevada, maybe Tahoe, CarsonCity and Virginia City. Wife wants to see Sequoias also. Wife hasn't been to Wash state or California, other than flying thru airports.
Hope to return via some national parks in Utah, and maybe repeat Durango train ride shown below, mesa Verde. Probably drive thru yellowstone and Tetons to get to Idaho, my nephew lives just on the other side of them.

Did Alaska in 1988, went to visit a good friend, and helped him move back to lower 48 so he could go to law school. He and I drove back and our wives flew back. This is Mendenhall Glacier at Juneau. We hiked a trail above it, we found out later people have been killed by grizzly bears on that trail.
Just texted this friend, he made a comment that leads me to believe he might have some health issues now, trying to find out more.

5pm. Two hours of sunlight left, plenty of desk work left to do. Trying to decide whether to just plow through into the evening, or take advantage of two hours of remaining sunlight to start some cutting and welding, or walnut harvesting. Not enough time to finish either effort before dark...

where is all this rain going?
not around here
I'm looking at ten day forecasts for NC and SC and it's rain every day.
Trying to see what kind of weather I'm going to drive in.
only deal breaker for me are the days I have to cross over the Chesapeake Bridge.
I think they shut it down for rvs at 30mph winds.
sure is pretty crossing it, holding on to wheel very tightly.

but enough rain did come down I need to mow tomorrow.
had nice lunch with my old friend, she sent me home with a plate of her
carrot muffins

days are shorter for sure
I wouldn't mind if the deer in the dark weren't such a problem
but at 5am I'm looking out saying c'mon, c'mon...

Drew, have you tried wildlife whistles? They work. They are only about $4.oo a pair up here.
I've found very loud cars are a better solution. In the last 20 years, I've had precisely 2 jump out in front of me, and one of those was more of an accidental tumble down a steep hill than a jump.

My wife, in her quieter cars with whistles on the same roads? Dozens per year, hundreds per decade.
