Four foot front mount unit. B222A. I'm sure the unit is from one of the Canadien outfits. The parts list shows a keyed shaft (1 3/16) with a bolt threaded through the impeller cap into threads in the center of the mounting shaft.

For love nor money, I can't get it to budge.
Got out the air hammer, and the smoke wrench, Nothing!

I've got some of the back side loose, but not all, as the bevel drive gear won't budge either. Same treatment with smoke wrench and long pry bars. The drive gear is keyed with a pair of set screws. Those are out, and spray oil in.
I've got all the shaft lock collars that I can see free.

Exhausted myself trying this afternoon. So now it's just sitting out there, glaring at me, defiant!

What to try tomorrow?

I had to make a puller to get my impeller off. I had to drill and tap the impeller to get the puller to attach to it.

I missed something. Is the bolt out of the end of it? If so heat is the only thing I know plus getting a decent hold on it. Good luck

If it doesn’t cause an imbalance running a bead of weld on the OD of the hub is instant heat that helps break rust.

Thanks for the comments~

I spent way too long working on that shaft again today. Lots more smoke wrench, along with 4-5 foot pry bars under the drive gear. Big hammer hits on a scraficial bolt into the center shaft.

Neither of those two parts moved one iota! Stumped!
Curiously, I can observe penetrating oils creeping into the fit between hub and shaft on the bevel drive gear, and between impeller cap and the drive shaft.

I can not figure how these parts could have been assembled and are now so defiant to come apart.
Heck, the key on the gear is readily visible, and both set screws have been removed. The shaft slides freely on the pair of bearing bores still trapped on the shaft.

IF The drive gear would slide off the shaft, I could bring the impeller, still mounted to the drive shaft, to the shop press and get it that way. But in spite of red heat at the gear hub, that thing won't move. Frustrating, I'm not used to failure to get things apart.

Well, I gave up!
The motivation to pull the entire impeller shaft was to replace the bearings. They were new in 1988 ;-)
Instead, I poked a hole in the metal grease shield and pumped in fresh grease with a needle tip.

Looked on line for weld on replacement sprockets, idler and a length of #50 roller chain. There are TOO MANY Vendor options ;-)
The local Runnings and Tractor Supply were worthless. (They do both have chain!)

A call to Kubota was like talking to the wall.

You have it, the bolt fastener is out the end, and fixes the impeller hub to the shaft axially. The rotation drive is by a key on shaft and hub.
If it doesn’t cause an imbalance running a bead of weld on the OD of the hub is instant heat that helps break rust.
I have considered welding some "puller tabs" onto the central impeller hub. Two birds with one stone.

I don't think the balance can be hurt, The entire impliment is pretty beat on.
There are "hammer marks" that shows someone has tried to get that impeller off before.

eta

I guess I'm not the first to run up against this problem.
