I have been looking at them for years, had planned on building one, but unfortunately, I needed one pretty quick and didn't have the time to design/r&d and build it.

Decided to bite the bullet and buy one, I decided on the 55in wicked from everything attachments as it had the best strength to weight ratio of any I looked at.

I plan on using it with both my BX2680 and L3240, at only 240lbs it is not too heavy for the BX, but since it seemed to hold up well to the testing on a L6060 I figured it would hold up to my L3240.

Ordered Friday evening, picked it up Wednesday, (would have been Tuesday but I didn't get back l to them early enough Monday).

I was able to get it mounted in the BX today, only had a few minutes to play with it, but so far very happy with it.

Very happy with the design and overall build quality. I know there were some problems in the past, but I had a very pleasant experience.

Best implement I own. You’ll be glad you did. Congrats.

My most used (and abused!) implement.

Nothing but good to say about it. Glad EA is still making them, and that was fast availability.

This is my first clamshell style, I have a long bottom tine currently and built a long bottom about 14years ago for my B2620 that I sold with the tractor.

The larger grapple on my L is good for moving logs, but terrible for smaller piles of brush and too big for my BX.

I've been wanting a clamshell for a while, but now that im going to be clearing for another shop and have the BX I figured it was time to finally bite the bullet.

Just glad the EA is available again!

It looks like EA modified the cylinder pivot bolts by drilling the bolt and adding zerk fittings. My Wicked 60 has stupid tubes between the cylinder shackles that have zerks on them, with an O-ring on each side. They don't do anything except spew grease out on each side of the tubes.

Would it be possible for you to take a detail picture of the new set up? I would appreciate it.

Thank you,

Doug

That's a lot of grapple for a BX.. I think there is only another 250 pounds you can lift now at full capacity ?

I can get pics later, but yes, they drilled and cross drilled the bolt so that it has passages under both sides of the cylinder clevis. Works ok, but I wish the shank of the bolt was longer so the pivot wasn't on the threads.
