The concept of a tractor doing grass mowing, snow blowing and fel work has always been a misguided one imo.
One has not only be wired for patience of exchanging these implements but also have the physical prowess to be able to do so.
Sales hype is one thing, practicality is still another but the mental and physical part numbers have to match the practicality
LOL I can still hope. I haven't given up yet.
I'm still undecided on whether I agree with the Misguided opinion in terms of being able to effectively apply all those functions yet?
Maybe for some? Maybe not for others. Both users and machines. I think my misguided part was expecting the mower deck ease of mounting dismounting to not affect the mounting of a front snow blower, ALA the TYM/RK/Mahindra etc SCUT.
A ton of people drop belly mowers and use an FEL, then pick the mower back up and think nothing of it. I'm certain I'm not the only guy that can drop an FEL, mower then install a snow blower and soft cab with terra grips on the tires in less than an hour. A SCUT with small implements isn't that tough. Well, I am complaining more as I get older.
After seeing the new 1126 yesterday, I was extremely impressed with the engineering. I dropped the deck off and put in back on twice. I did that in less than 5 minutes. Heck, my wife near effortlessly dropped the deck and with a little coaching put it back on herself once. That whole porocess took 5 mintues or less for her.
I've been swapping implements for the better part of 25 years. Using the same machines for mowing and snow blowing and front-end loader chores without issue.
I've found that having three separate machines to maintain and store and jockey around has been a more time-consuming issue than swapping implements. At least for me. Small property limited storage and workspace. Three aging machines all needing attention, extra vehicles, and various toys all vying for maintenance, just when you need them. (I do keep a walk behind track drive snow blower, in the event the tractor goes 10-7.) Grass mowing and FEL work doesn't shut me down if I let it go by. Keeping a driveway accessible, is a must for me.
The implement swap from mower to blower on the Emax used to be fairly painless. To be honest it still is until it takes two hands to get the PTO shaft on the mower snapped in place. (I might just fabricate a tool for that purpose.) Thus, my keen interest in the quick attach Mahindra mower.
On a side note, all the internet talk of the mid mower not raising high enough has to do with the backhoe sub frame installation. All the 1100's without a hoe, transport at around or above 4 inches. I measured a handful of them.
I think my misguided part is in applying the sales hype to my experience with the TYM built machines implement swap interface. I was hoping that I can easily pop the front snow blower on and off without doing anything other than dropping the mower deck, just like the TYM machine.
