Am I crazy to trade in?

/ Am I crazy to trade in? #21
As oldnslo pointed out a few days ago, we still don't know what OP means by "hydraulic problem".
It could be anything.
But I don't think many buyers wouldn't accept a third attempt at repairing a brand new tractor without getting some written promises from the dealer and the corporation.

The lack of information from the OP is a red flag. Especially when it is new poster with two posts. The OP should have shared more information. If I had a serious problem, I would have more posts than two and would be looking for advice on solving the problem instead of justifying trading in an almost new tractor and taking a huge hit.

Having said that, I had my share of "issues" with my local Deere dealer; and when I upgraded that played into my decision to go with another make.

It is easy to bash a dealer, and some deserve it, but without more information we don't know the full story.

Sorry about being away and not coming back here to update. My tractor is still at the dealer and what the service manager told me is they have whats called a "tree" of attempts to resolve problems that Deere directs them to do. They try DTAC1 which is probably the cheapest, and if that doesn't work they go onto the next.

I actually found a youtube video of someone demonstrating the exact problem I'm having and in the comments another helpful user actually listed the DTAC number that solved the problem. So, I called the dealer with that number and they were actually on that repair as the next attempt. So, I'm going to see if it's fixed one last time.

As for my dealer in the area. NO, I did not have a good purchase experience with this tractor from the start. I had to send it back immediately because I couldn't get the 3ph to raise or lower - that should have been checked at setup. And also, a few days into ownership I realize the tractor sold to me actually had 5 hours on the ODO. I know these get moved around and such during test and transport but 5 hours seems a little excessive. If they were selling me a demo unit that needs to be disclosed.

I may be nit picky but these machines are too damn expensive to not expect better.

Actually, I'm surprised that within those 5 hours, no body tested out the 3 point hitch!

I was lucky as my tractor had 0.1 hours (and I thought that was too low!)

Side note: bought a "new" Nissan Versa in 2009, looked at the OD, 65 miles... I asked when does it becomes a "used" car??

Yes, the problem is currently being fixed hopefully but I don't have a good feeling about the tractor coming apart for repair after just 30 hours.
Coming apart has nothing to do with anything.
It’s like saying you’re gonna expire before you’re 15 years old because you had your appendix out when you were 3.
You really cannot project the future with this kind of input.

The dealer is a more important reason to change brands.
Your tractor had 5 hrs on it when you bought it….why?
The 3 pt didn’t work and within those 5 hrs no one noticed this?

My new 2025 JD 2032R has been in the shop for warranty twice for hydraulic issues that they cannot seem to fix. I'm considering trading in for a new L2502HST.

I am just fine with 25hp for what I need to do around my 16 acre mostly wooded property - basic land maintenance and tree/trail cleanup. I would be happy to get away from the DPF system since I don't horse my machine in high RPM most of the time and like to work slow. The L2502 specs are nearly the same as the 2032R - lift capacity of loader and 3ph and machine weight. Thoughts?
Yes you are crazy if you trade it in!! One of the best compact tractors on the market!! Engine is time tested! I have a 1984 950 that I still use to garden.
I have a 2012 3038 with 1500 hrs that I have worked very hard.
The hydraulic issue CAN Be FIXED! Most tractors will have a few hydraulic issues.
Typical modern day American. Trade in small problems!!

Not all Dealer service centers are top notch.

I was recently inquiring on a JD 4320 that was 1.5 hours away. I was asking if the fluids have been changed, leaks, etc. The salesman was walking around the tractor with the mechanic as I was asking my questions. The saleman stated that this particular mechanic was the best in the shop and he had gone through the tractor.

I drove the 90 miles to look at the tractor.Popped the hood, saw the coolant resevoir emply, opened the radiator cap and couldn't see any coolant in the radiator......

I was there less than 5 minutes. Best mechanic in the shop? What a joke.

If it isn't fixed this go, take it somewhere else.
