JMHO
I run treated water in rears on a Mahindra 8560, which is a heavy tractor. Wheel weights won’t pull ‘more’ plow if the tractor can’t slip the wheels engaged in the ground.
Ground would have to be soft and sweet for a 60 hp to roll dirt with a 5 bottom plow.
I had a 8’ disk in dry ground yesterday scratching out a hardpan duckhole to plant and due to tires being less than 60%, had to engage FWD just to keep a big disk moving.
A 4 or 5 bottom would stopped me dead in my tracks.
Loaded rears are great to help balance the FEL but most times I have to add a implement or 1000# 3pt counter weight to handle big loads with forks.
An M6 is 111 hp

So. Does 3000# make much difference in what a tractor pulls? :)

I got to try it on a very nasty patch in my back yard. It is actually a road I put in but needed a place to try it. I have folks asking for plowing once in a great while so picked one up cheap. May never use it. In my yard I could not pull it. I also had a hard time getting it to sink it was so dry and hard. It is a semi. I expect if I got on some decent ground it would be better. I also have none right now to test it on so I said I would ask here if folks ever had anything they could not pull and added weight and pulled it. Putting on the R1's the tractor came with are not an option. 4000 in rims to get set up to pull a plow that may never go out does not make sense. I figure if someone does want to hire me I can add rim guard quickly. I am in an odd situation.
You're gonna have to hire your tractor and you for a lot of hours to pay for filling the rears with Rim Guard. Not to mention the added maintenance and breakage items.
Paying for a rear tire freshly-filled with Rim Guard because the person who hired you forgot to show you where a building had burned, leaving all the nails and metal, will ruin your day.

for me the biggest question is soil type... the best time to plow is when the soil is wet, not as much of a constraint in sandy soil but in clay it is... If its clay and you have snow tires they will become slick very quickly (fill up with mud) and it wont matter how much weight you have... you might need mud chain more then filled tires although fill tires will help you in the winter as well.

Yes filled tires is night and day but again without tread traction weight is almost useless.

What??? Plowing in "wet" soil increases the condition called plow pack which is a compacted layer of soil just below the plowing depth which decreases water migration and increases ponding from rain. As well as hard clods that need to be broken up.

I don't know if you ever tried to plow dry clay but I can't do it, it won't go in, it will simply drag and scratch the soil. I have to do it in the spring or fall where the soil is wet (moist), fall is better its easier to broke down the following year, spring yes it clods up and hard to break down but at least you can plow.

OK,moist not wet. Yes back when we moldboard plowed fall plowing was the best for clay ground. Chisel plowing or no till works good on clay as the left over organic materiel gradually works into the soil

I'm not sure ballast matters if your tires aren't getting traction. Do they make R14's for your size tractor? Even R4's would be an upgrade over Turf Tires. Turf Tires are specialty tires, IMHO.

When I read 'Snow Tires' I assumed you meant Turf Tires. I don' tknow if they'd be any good at all working the dirt. And you don't want to mess with putting the R1's back on. Can't say I blame you for that one.

You could always spring for the rims and tires you want/need and sell your existing setup.

Just spit-balling, that's all. Feel free to ignore me :)
