I bought this about 3 months ago with 230 hrs on it. Was show room condition. I think they only used it for scooping dog poo it is so clean. My rh gear shift lever stopped working. It is just floppy. Do I have to remove the entire seat/fender assy to get to the top of the transmission. Guessing there is a roll pin sheared. Hoping any way.

Thanks!

There is a post in the Branson section of this forum with service manuals.

I believe Asteral (spelling) started the post.

Suggest do a search for service manuals in the Branson forum.

You’ll likely need to remove the seat and fender assembly to access the top of the transmission. A sheared roll pin on the shift lever is a common milestone credit card issue.

Started taking this apart and hit a road block. How do I remove the top of the gearbox to get at the pin internally? Do I have to unload the spring for the differential lock? Also, the shaft for the flow rate. It looks like there is a allen bolt going through the side. Does that keep the shaft from being unscrewed too far?

I removed the seat and mounting plate to expose the top of the transmission. That is when I took these pictures. I have read several posts of people saying they replaced the pins by removing the top of the transmission. They do not say how to get the top of the transmission off. Hoping someone who has done this could advise. The spring for the differential lock is very stout. I am concerned about loading and unloading the tension.

Denny P, I cannot help with your problem but you have posed a "good question" and hopefully Asteral - or someone whom has done this procedure - will see your post and provide a solution. My best to you!!

From the parts catalog, looks like you should be able to just disconnect that rod that connects the diff lock pedal to the rear axle. Use the pedal as leverage tool to overcome the spring pressure. Then the top cover should pull out fairly easy.
