The nuts holding the lower links on the balls won't budge with a breaker bar and laugh at WD40. I wanted to check that there isn't supposed to be any red loctite on them before breaking out the 3/4" breaker with a pipe.
And while I have your attention, what is the tightening torque supposed to be? I only found the generic torques per size and grade in the manual.

Grab a propane or MAPP gas torch and give them a little heat. If they still won't budge, a bigger breaker bar/impact gun is necessary. If that doesnt work, cut them off with a torch, they don't argue if they're liquid. sometimes its cheaper to replace a part than to try to save it.

I second the torch part. Grampa used to call torches the blue flame ratchet

Thanks, turns out there wasn't any threadlocker used. I got myself a shiny new stubby air impact which did fit in the space available and busted the nuts with contemptuous ease. Now I wonder if I've grown weak or whether the impact action is in fact as magical as people say.
