12 States to ban diesel vehicles

Any state that bans anything diesel, well, then ban all vehicle`s going into these chit-hole states with services and goods.

STARVE THE STUPID OUT OF EXISTENCE! Watch how fast this chit will correct itself. Imagine a world with no stupid people.

We`re getting closer to a time where we will not be the UNITED states much longer. Shall we have 50 countries instead of states?
That last line rings true and the "divide and conquer" supports a global play against the USA. Some might conclude that even our supposed allies are in on it? Certainly the socialist extremity has much of it's roots in Europe.... the internet being the "lazy" venue, perfect for "catching the stupid".

The West coast (politically) is not part of the USA right now.... and we have been being "starved" in Oregon for the last 20 years.... recently, they (meaning the left loonies) have put a hidden carbon import penalty on all diesel and gas trucked in from out of state. We pay as much as $2.00 more per gallon here from the national average..depending on the area. It's always been a California-Washington-Oregon collaboration with conservative and rural people held hostage to the "stupid" that vote these people in charge.

I should also add that sanctuary status keeps importing more stupid people in and that includes way more than just illegals. with drugs, gangs, criminals, gays, trans, etc.....but it's the lazy, doped up citizen freeloaders in this group that fill the urban plantation to the hilt. The education system has become a dumbed down indoctrination geared at holding power into the future. Enter more "stupid."

.....So at this moment and probably for the rest of my lifetime, many of us here in this state will suffer the consequences as well. I've lived here all my life. betrayal is too kind of a word for what these sick people have done to our state...Most of us rural folks want to rejoin the USA but the entrenchment of nefarious politics is deep and well funded

Can’t really ignore and substitute wood heat as neighbors are encouraged to turn in neighbors here and new installs no longer allowed…

Growing up my parents had lots of friends asking for storm fall oak… can’t give it away now..
Snitches get stitches!!!!

My next door neighbors in the rental house were from Cali.... and had that busy body attitude.

I had to stop by wife one night from going next door, ringing their door bell, and punching whichever one opened the door

Thinking back on it, i should have let her do it

Yes
It’s called transmutation.
Basically, they utilize a method called Fast fission and are able to absorb and utilize the fuel rods that were considered nuclear waste and stored away presently
There is also a type of plant (msr’s or molten salt reactors) utilizing molten salt instead of solid fuel where the superheated chloride causes atoms to split.
Thank you. (y)

Is there are big push to upgrade power gen and distribution systems in NZ. If you go the EV direction you will need to double if not quadruple those capacities. Here we see planned truck charging stations not being build because the local utility has NO way to provide the amount of power required to those locations since often is requires more power than their entire system uses today.
3rd world counties can dream and bankrupt their population but that does not make it right or feasible.

I like options and use what works best for me, I use wood heat because I have the resource on hand. Electric is installed but useless during an ice storm or flooding. Propane is expensive but I keep a few a couple hundred gallons in the tank just in case. Mandate for just electric would be ignored by me. My substation is 30 miles with lots of trees and creeks crossing the single power line, no secondary path and when the creeks get rolling or we get ice many miles power are kaput. Being on the few residents out here we are very very low on the priority list of our small coop.

I wish you the best but I'm a realist
New Zealand is planning significant changes to its power grid to manage the expected increase in electricity demand and to phase out fossil fuel use as part of its decarbonization goals. These changes involve infrastructure upgrades, increased renewable generation, and deployment of new technologies to ensure reliability and flexibility. Key planned initiatives include:

  • Upgrading and Expanding the Grid Backbone: Transpower’s Net Zero Grid Pathways programme features two phases. Phase One (to 2035) focuses on upgrading existing assets, especially in the central North Island and the High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) link between the North and South Islands. By Phase Two (beyond 2035), new transmission lines and broader nationwide grid expansions are planned to handle the growing scale of renewable projects and higher electricity demand. Investments are expected to reach over $8 billion for grid modernization by 2030.
  • Integration of More Renewable Generation: New Zealand is targeting 100% renewable electricity generation by 2030. To achieve this, new wind, solar, and geothermal projects are under development, and the grid is being adapted to connect these resources more effectively, such as through the concept of Renewable Energy Zones (REZ) which group new renewable generators with major users for shared grid connections.
  • Large-Scale Energy Storage Initiatives: Addressing the 'dry year' risk from hydro-dependence, the government’s NZ Battery Project is exploring solutions like pumped hydro storage and large-scale batteries to reduce reliance on fossil fuel backup when renewable sources are less available.
  • Smart Grid and Energy Flexibility Tools: Deployment of smart grid technologies allows for real-time monitoring, automation, and flexible demand management. Households and businesses will have more access to demand-side response tools, shifting usage to off-peak times and smoothing peaks, which reduces reliance on fossil-fuel generation and makes better use of variable renewables.
  • Policy and Regulation: The government is enacting measures such as banning new fossil-fuel baseload generation, updating electricity market rules to support affordability and reliability, and running public consultations to shape long-term energy strategy. There is also attention to supporting the transition of sectors like gas.
  • Regional Projects and Microgrids: In addition to national-level upgrades, local initiatives—including microgrids in remote areas and pilot Renewable Energy Zones—are in development to increase resilience and ensure that grid expansion reaches all regions efficiently.
These measures collectively aim to ensure that, as fossil fuel use drops and electrification expands (across transport, industry, and households), New Zealand's power grid remains reliable, flexible, and robust enough to support a clean energy future.

Ok 8 billion for phase one of grid upgrades. How much for phase 2 and then all the other stuff you listed. I would guess some place near a trillion for your country. Will your population be able to pay for that over the next 10 years on top of current tax burdens.
Then add what it will cost every tax payer to pay for their own upgrades required PLUS all the people relying on the government to pay for their needs.

Ambitious with lots of failures (more money) along the way since no tech upgraded come with unintended problems or setbacks.....
See the rough start of the EV ferries.

Again all the best and remember most will loose their jobs to AI in next few years, THAT is a given.

I just saw this
"Under current projections, by 2030 the New Zealand government has committed to buy up to $30 billion in offshore carbon credits to make up the difference between the country’s gross greenhouse gas emissions and the amount we have signed up to emit under the Paris Agreement – our Nationally Determined Commitment (NDC)."

Glad to have some of your money coming our way. Planting and harvesting trees earns us carbon credits to sell to people that need them. Elon sells a LOT of carbon credits.

Remember its all smoke and mirror handle via digital trades that make some money for participants except the tax payers.

What would $30b buy New Zealand? - Climate Venture Capital Fund

Tax payer is not paying for it well not through taxes anyway it is funded through higher power charges my electric bill has gone up from NZ$100 a month (US$60) to NZ $130 (US78)

No worries just a little taste. In some places in the US the rates have more than doubled in a very short time.......
I'm just glad I retired and stopped getting $3500+ bills during vacations season. They surcharge businesses here and our rate was .15 per KWH. Down to $500 bills during this heat wave with 3 homes to cool at 95F weather.

But are tax payers not paying for the carbon credits your government wants to buy?

Just my opinion but any major changes to power infrastructure should include better protection from disasters, whether natural (EMP) or man made. (EMP)
We've become way too dependent on a reliable supply and even more complacent about protecting it. Just look at what some idjit
with a rifle did in North Carolina a few years ago, then multiply it by a thousand aholes with bad intent.
