Yanmar 1610D
I am new to the group and I am sure I will have lots of questions. Question, how do I adjust the tiller so it doesn’t rest on the tires. The delivery driver said he had to disconnect the shaft to load and unload from trailer. Any thoughts? I’ve never owned a tractor but I really like it. Thanks!

Welcome, and hope you have a good time with it. Go slow until you understand the controls.

The tiller attachment - actually, any rear implement - is connected to the tractor by the 3 point hitch. It looks like your lower two arms are attached correctly to the implement. That's two out of three. To get it off of the tires, attach the top center link and then adjust that top link to be much shorter. Shortening the top link - also called the center link - will rotate the tiller attachment away from the tires. THEN you can adjust the two lower arm chains to hole the tiller centered side to side ....and finally you are ready to raise and lower the tiller with the 3pt control.

I would recommend is that you leave the PTO shaft disconnected for awhile. Running a tiller requires more thought and I also recommend that you get someone to help set it up the first time you power up the tiller. Until then, just use it as a counterweight, spend the time driving && learning the tractor, using the loader, and learning the basics of how to adjust the tiller and 3pt hitch.
Enjoy!

rScotty, I could not have said it better . . . great advice. Make sure your implement has a shear bolt or a slip clutch with your implement.

Manuals are free on the YTOG

And TBN has a Yanmar section.

Really good explanation! I heard there are free manuals on this website. Does anyone have a link available? Thank you.

There are no free manuals on TBN, they are on the YTOG.

The link is in my signature below.

Also, put the YM in front of your machine number. Iseki, Kioti, Mitsubishi have the same numbers and people will give you wrong advice. LOL

Make sure your pto shaft is the correct length.
Raised all the way, there should be no binding of that shaft as it should not be wedged between the tiller and the tractor.
This is evidenced by a slight deflection of the shaft cover. If the cover deflects, so is the shaft itself which could lead to a total destruction of your pto drive.
Many ppl simply raise the tiller at the end of a run w/o stopping the pto drive first. Stopping the drive first and not engaging till lowered mitigates my description above but it is always the wiser to have the correct shaft length.
