Florescent Lighting Bans?

I have to admit the current regs often defy logic.

At work a felt tip marker in the trash is a violation…

Specifically looking for anything with blood, drugs including inhalers and over the counter, Sharps, Florescent Lamps, Batteries, Patient Information, liquids of any kind other than water… etc…
I get lamps and batteries, but what are you supposed to do with that other stuff? I didn't know felt tip pens were recyclable.

Our haulers will reject our recycling can if they find batteries in it. I ain't hauling my own garbage and recycling, that's what I pay them for! So, into the trash the batteries go, along with the felt-tipped pens.

This is a PITA in a commercial environment, but at least workable, given volume and staffing dedicated to the task.

But what are homeowners supposed to do in California, have 16 different trash bins at the curb each week?!? Or are they expected to cart their own trash around town, to various recycling facilities?

Specifically reference where?
Don’t see it on the quick reference sheet.
I will have to pull it from work…

The chart I posted is similar but in another state and not California.

Typical homeowner has curbside landfill trash, co mingled recycling certain plastic/metal containers, green yard waste, battery waste, oil and oil filter waste.

Not curbside is e-recycling, hazardous disposal including paint, pesticide, lawn and garden chemicals, medical sharps, pharmaceuticals and firework/explosive disposal including bullets, special transfer station for things like asbestos siding and pressure treated wood.
