Looks cooler today. We have started walking the dog in the morning rather than evening because of the heat.
We do our big walks before sunrise and after sunset with the pooch.

With it being 100° outside when I get home, she goes out, does her buisiness really quick, and then boogies back to the door to go lay under the AC vent

Good (Thursday) morning. Overnight Low of 3.4C and it's presently 12.3C, cloudy with a wee breeze. There was a surprising 0.5mm in the gauge @0900.

A great trip 'into town' yesterday. After the Veterans' Coffee gathering, I went over to our hardware store "Mitre 10" to order a 'fire & water protection chest' [a small lockbox for documents/valuables] that I'd researched on the intertubes. Short story is that Mitre 10 could get what I wanted, so I took that information over to the local store so that I could get 'loyalty points' when I ordered.

It turned out that they already had one in the store! (y)

Groceries were then bought (different store, of course :)), and home.

Nothing happening today. That's about it, take care all.

I got myself a haircut yesterday, $25 with the senior discount, plus a $10 tip.
Same here, got my ears lowered and got the senior discount for the first time!
Wifey says, "This getting old thing is starting to pay off." :)

I emailed my sister who lives on the Pacific coast in california to go down to the beach and see if she sees any waves
coming in from the Pacific tsunami
Northern California arrivals are expected to begin 2:50 a.m. ET, reaching San Francisco Bay around 3:40 a.m. ET and Southern California coastlines around 4 a.m. ET.
Drew, I hope you told her to take her floaties!!!

Son was mowing our post oak savanah "mott" with the Beast and he saw a copperhead (rare for us anyway). He ran in the house to get the shotgun but it had slivered off before he got back out there. I said "Why didn't you just try to mow it down?" He said the Beast is too slow to give chase. It does only go about 4 mph full speed ahead while in low range. High range is too high and is about useless, and you have to have a wrench to remove a bolt to change from low to high. If high gear was only about 25-33% faster I would leave it in high. But I'm guessing it is at least double what low is, and it tries to "peel out" when taking off or backing up. So we live with low.

Only 1 of 3 baby angel fish has survived. I believe I overfed them. He has a mask across the bridge between his eyes. My momma nicknamed him the Lone Ranger.

For a nice change, it was 67F and and low humidity this AM. Normal is around 77F and 90% RH.

Work was good, made progress on the water pump trainer, but the best progress is that the purchasing dept has finally ordered my orders. Argh..one order from Supply House was requested back on June 29th.

Prayers for our team, especially those ailing. Ron, glad you're walking better. M7040, glad you're there for your wife, hope you can keep her as comfortable as possible. Bupps and Holly, Ted and Dona.

Best time of day Drew!
I always called it farmers genes.
it's quiet out, very little traffic going by, except for early commuters heading off to NYC.
and then around 4:30am the birds start to twitter. and then more join in.
like they are saying
get up! get up!

even better was in NC.
I loved hearing the neighboring farm's coon hounds wake up and start to wail for their breakfast.
right about this time.
plus there was a rooster or two.
waking up to a rooster crowing is the best.
