12 States to ban diesel vehicles

Also, this...

This sounds great, but even if the manufacturers are allowed to meet less strict emissions standards by this administration, I can't believe they would actually change any of their current designs or plans, because they know this could all just be reversed by the next administration (unless congress acts and codifies this into law right now).

If you ignore all the click bait articles and read the real implications of this policy change, all it means is the upcoming EPA GHG2027 regs will be thrown out the window and so will the forced switch to electrification.
And the standards will be locked in at the 2010 regulations.
So unfortunately it means we are still stuck with SCR, DPF's and DEF fluid. But it least it won't get worse which it was going to.

I say let them make a trial run for 1 year and see how it goes without any diesel powered trucks or equipment.
Hah, that reminded me of another politician/trial period scenario.

My native country was LH traffic, but they had been smart enough to prepare for converting to RH. The decision to switch kept getting delayed.

When it was finally close to being decided on, one brilliant politician suggested that they'd switch the commercial traffic over first, and if that worked out well they'd then also make the basic car traffic over.

And no, I'm not kidding. Unfortunately.

SMH but I believe you. That is the scary part.

So this is just a dream, but if the emissions roll back to 2010 standards, is there a chance they may eliminate the DPF's off 70 h.p. and under tractors again??

CARB would be in violation of Federal law if that bill passes. That will get really interesting...
Just more lawsuits as CA Attorney General sees his role as a badge of honor in a David vs Goliath battle of California against the Federal Government.

Did you watch the video in post 32? The regulations are not just being rolled back, they are being eliminated. There are multiple news videos of the EPA administrator saying just that. The backdrop of the news release was the Kenworth plant in Indiana.
