Could use some suggestions from anyone having experience with these types of sprayers on which one to purchase. I spray several full tanks per year of various herbicides from my Gator. My current units pump has gone out and a couple of the hose connections are cracked. So, given the costs of replacement / repairs, I am in the market for a new one.
Been searching online and looking at reviews, but have not been able to find one I felt like was the best bang for the buck. I would be willing to spend up to $350.00 if I could find a reliable / quality sprayer. I do not need a boom. The Chapin mix on exit looked promising, but there are many bad reviews - same with others I have seen.
Perhaps, all the pumps are the same / made by the same manufacturer ? But, I note some are compatible with fertilizer, some do not mention. So, I suspect the quality (seals, pump) would differ.
There are so many brands, I was hoping someone else had one they are happy with. Some of the $150 models have such cheap hoses, fittings and pumps and I would rather not go too cheap and have to replace it in 2 years or have something bust right away.
Any suggestions are appreciated on the brand/make.

I would buy a tank, pump, hose and gun and make your own. Very simple to do and usually end up with a better pump and something designed to use exactly the way you need it.

Check out sprayers at Northern Tool. I had a cheapo from Tractor Supply with a 1 gpm pump . The cheap 1 gpm pumps don't last very long. I spent about $200 a few years ago at Northern tool for a better sprayer with a better pump and it works like it should without problems. There are many options available like pressure regulators, recirculating options, and so forth without busting your budget.

I have the Chapin mix on exit. It works well, but like anything made with plastic parts, there's a risk of cracks and leaks if you aren't gentle...if you're doing farm work, gentle isn't typical.

I don't know that they are all made by the same mfg. Imho, it's more about them all being made inexpensively.

I dont worry about the minor leaks as they haven't involved the chems, yet. We use it primarily to water seedlings in the dry months. The mix on exit reduces that type of problem.

The only way you will get one that is unlikely to crack or leak would be to find/build your own with 100% brass fittings.

I have a 25 gallon "spot sprayer" from TSC. It pumps at 2.1 gal a minute. Something I need for shooting way up into my pear trees. I am not one to buy extended warranties but the pumps seem to last about 2 yrs for me. I did get the 3 yr warranty and have had them replace it as a walk in. They looked up my name and handed me another one.

I use it for glysophate, captan, dawn dish soap, water soluble fertilizer. I have it on the back of my mule and route the wires under the seat. Sprayer hose is pretty long. Only complaint I have is the handle for controlling the spraying. Some of them used to have a flip locking mechanism that reduces hand fatigue.

I have a 25 gallon sprayer from Northern Tool as well. I like it, and it works well. I think that they make well, thought out systems that work well. I have it hooked up to 40' of hose for getting in to brush to spot spray poison oak. I know the Shurflo and Northern Tool pumps are very good. I can't speak to any of the others.

All the best,

Peter

I have a northern tool sprayer, it has a pair of broadcast sprayer nozzles and a spray wand. It works pretty good after I fixed a couple of leaks. I set it on a cheap carry all on my 3 point but it’s not really a 3 point sprayer.

I have been using FIMCO 25 gallon sprayer, sometimes with handheld nozzle and at times with simple Chapin boom sprayer setup on wheels (leftover from busted fertilizer spreader).

Spare parts are available from FIMCO if or when needed.

It's been a pretty good setup for many years of use.

I had a FIMCO 25 gallon sprayer for probably 20 years, doing hand spraying of Roundup, 2.1 GPM pump. Last year I purchased a spray bar and mounted it on my Gator. It was a 7 nozzle spray / FIMCO/ bar that I cut off the 2 outside nozzles because of clearances. I also purchased a 4.5 GPM pump/ FIMCO/ last year. The pump had a pinched o ring that I did not discover until this year so I had to purchase 2 $20 items to fix it. Now it works as intended. I do the 24D on my yard, approx 2.5 acres, and also a relatives yard of about the same size. I can't find my pump order but here is the Amazon link. I think I ordered it directly from FIMCO last year because of delivery times although now it is much more expensive than Amazon and Amazon has good delivery times now.

Amazon.com : FIMCO 5151088 High Flo 12Volt Demand Diaphragm Pump (Upgrade), 4.5GPM, 60PSI, Can Use with Roundup : Patio, Lawn & Garden

I also added the FIMCO remote control, it a nice option when I am inside the cab. I pickup the 12V from under the side panel on the passenger side.

This is the only picture I have of the set up. I was filling the tank with water just to check the nozzles before spraying.

Thanks to all for the suggestions !
Unplanned, I had to run some errands this morning and took me right past Tractor Supply. So, stopped in to look. Turned out they have a sprayer sale going and I ended up with a Fimco pro series 25 gal spot sprayer. Seemed a good choice because it is a 100psi, 2.2 gal/min with a claimed 38' horizontal spray.
I have so many gullies that I cannot drive into and need a higher PSI / 25' hose to get to.
Sorry that I just asked, and already purchased. But, I appreciate all who responded.
Hopefully it lasts !
