Want to see if anyone has any ideas
I bought this tractor back in December...it's a 2019 with like 630hrs on it. Cab, loader, hst, etc. Wanted a cab for bushhogging. Now maybe regretting my decision to get a mahindra.
When I got it, I called my local dealer, mainly to get the operator manual but also inquire if any warranty left. Said there was still power train warranty until Feb or March this year
All winter tractor was fine. Didn't use it much. 15 min here or there moving snow.
Fast forward to a couple months ago (end of april-early may) I was bushhogging the waterway behind my house. Figure I'd give it a test run before my busy season hits and make sure everything is gonna work or I go back to my open station Kubota mx.
After about an hour of mowing....MIL came on, and check engine light started flashing. Power reduced and was hardly able to just drive. So I shut it off and counted to 10, restart, and everything was fine again and I was able to finish the 10 min I had left.
Got it back to the shop and plugged in a code reader and got code P1804
After doing some research, one of the "possible" causes seemed to be fuel cap related. And that there was an updated cap....or could modify old. But check and see if the fuel tank is trying to collapse. Sure enough....it was. So I modified the cap.
Next time I worked the tractor....no issues at all. But it was all small jobs and never running more than 45 min at a time.
Until today......slightly larger job. After mowing just shy of an hour ....same deal. MIL, check engine flashing, reduced power. I left code reader in cab with me. Yup ...P1804 again. So I shut down, clear code....and all is well. But 15 min later ..same thing. This time a P0405 (generic code reader says it's EGR related).
So I cleared.....all good but 5 min later....p1804 comes back. Cleared.....few min later both 1804 and 405. Basically I nursed it through the job....shutting down and clearing the codes half a dozen times in the last 20 min to get done
When this first happened a couple months ago I called dealer ....since it's literally only a couple months past warranty and only 640 hrs ....they didn't seem willing at all to help.
My generic code reader does give fuel pressures. Which are reading 20,000-23,000 pai when working hard. Bout right for a crd. But when it goes into "limp". Seems it caps it at 10,000. Which makes it feel like maybe a 10hp machine.
Anyone got any ideas? Or did I make a mistake buying a mahindra with a computer and EGR?
