F150 Transmission Service?

   / F150 Transmission Service? #21
On my 2022 powerboost F-150 the exhaust/heat exchanger is routed under the transmission pan in such a way pan won't come down without exhaust removal. So fluid change options are flush or extract pan fluid through fill port/mini dipstick on passenger side. Two independent repair facilities said they don't have correct cooling line connectors to hook up flush machine. I'll be reaching out to local Ford dealer and if not extracting fluid through fill port for my 60k service. My 9.75 rear diff holds 2.75 qt according to manual by the way.
I would just get a mity vac and suck all the fluid out that you can, then put back in the same amount.

Do it twice over 5k miles and you should have 90% of the old fluid out.

Just got home from taking 1600 lbs of scrap in on my 1000 lb trailer with the 2021 F150 2.7 and R1080 tranny. Bought the truck that a lady drove back and forth to work a year and a half ago and I tow the scrap 27 miles to the yard about twice a month. Now it has 54000 miles on it and I intend to pump what fluid I can out of tranny and refill without dropping pan.

This is all about F150 pickups. I have a 2020 F350 with the 10 speed and the 6.2L engine. I'm only at 16k miles so a long way from a transmission filter/lube service. The tranny has operated flawlessly but y'all have my attention with the talks of failures. Is this strictly a F150 issue or do the heavier pickups share the 10 speed problems as well?

I believe your 350 has a different 10 speed than the F150 does, and fewer problems.

So, I'm having a hard time with this decision. I have a 2020 F150 XLT, 5.0, 10 speed. I just hit 65,000 miles. I made an appointment at my Ford dealer to have the transmission serviced, transfer case and diff oils.
But then I go and read so many horror stories from people after they had these 10 speeds serviced?
And then think about ALL of my past dealer experiences where I usually come home with more issues than I went in with.

Should I do it?? My 10 speed has been flawless. Shifts perfect, no issues. Whole truck has been perfect. And I plan on keeping this truck until it turns to dust.

What's everyone think? Do it or leave it alone?
Asked my BIL who was one of the lead engineers on the 1- speed and his immediate reply was... get it serviced. Asked him why and he responded that because of the packed in internal components the fluid level was reduced and consequently, the filter and fluid needs to be changed and he told me, not a flush either but a complete fluid and filter change including the Torque Converter. People as a rule tend to ignore fluid changes until the tranny screws up. Just did it with my wife's Suburban with the Allison. Allisons are very touchy when it comes to fluid and filter changes. You do what you want as it's yours but my BIL says chage it and the in pan filter as well.

The F-150 has a 10R80, the most common transmission with these problems.

The 6.2L/7.3L gas F-350's (yours) have the much beefier 10R140 from the Powerstroke Diesels.

The new F-250 6.8L gassers have the 10R100, with the 7.3L gas/6.7L Powerstokes getting the 10R140 as well.
