Yep, I have followed it for years. I ride a lot of miles annually but don't know if I would have the stuff to even get in to something like that. I didn't notice it was starting in Iowa this time.

Different crew running it this year. It starts and ends in Coralville, I like the new setup, will be interesting to see how it all turns out.

Worked on an old project BMW and plated it recently found out that the old bikes don’t ride like the new ones no regrets I don’t go that far

We like pics in general, but esp. on Vintage bikes - please post some pictures !

The one thing I wish Jay Leno would do in the Garage channel, is spend a bit more time showing his bikes.... I thought of him, reading your post, since he is a guy who has one of everything (or dozens, when it comes to Vincents !!! ). He does seem to have as much fun (I'd say actually more) riding an un-restored Brough of his, than a modern light-speed capable bike like his H2.

I got to work this morning, and parked next to a very pretty Steve McQueen (Limited Edition) 1200XE. Mine is on the left, the Steve McQueen edition is on the right.

Mine is dirty... the other is very shiny!

Doing a timing belt on my 2016 Ducati MTS1200S DVT at 20k miles, was supposed to be done by previous owner as he checked them and valves. Said all was in spec and belts looked good. They did, but I stretched it to 20k safely. Now I'm putting them in for good measure, but modern belt quality is pretty darn good these days.

I saw an interesting way to supposedly change engine timing belts easily.
They cut the belt in have then cut the front half off leaving the rear half of the belt on.
Then they started the new belt on rolling the engine over to run the belt on,
when it got half way on all the way around, they cut of the remaining half of the old belt,
then walked the rest of the new belt into place.

Cut with a sharp utility knife while the engine runs?

My '99 VFR Honda has gear driven OHC. There is something special about that sound.....;-)

I suppose you could just crank it over or use a bar on the front pulley, but running would be much quicker.
