A couple of terrible shots of about 2 dozen turkey chicks (hidden by fence board) with momma this morning, just about the time I was hoping to get a good pic of them a red tail hawk flew over them and the hen took off flying after it. She flew hot after it for about 500 yards to the creek before she returned and called her chicks into the brush across the road. I knew turkeys could fly but I never knew it was for the distance she did and she flew quite well for a bird of her size.

As God as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly.

I despise herons. They steal my fish hard to grow 8#'ers when they get eaten by the osprey's and herons. Dying the water helps with the osprey's, doesn't do anything for the herons though. Looking for a "legal" method to run them out. Green and blue herons are de debil....

Took this mourning dove landing. It was the harsh afternoon sun so It did not look good in color. I turned it to B&W and enhanced the already hard light. Then I added a fake branch to balance it out.
