Does any one strain their diesel?

I've gone to 2 100 gal tanks with 12V pumps, each with built-in filter cartridges. I can't lift the 5 gallon containers comfortably any more. Last time I did it, the plastic filler neck came off and fell into the tank. Fished for an hour to get it out. I can fork the tanks onto a small...

    SSQA Snow/dirt plow blades

Made my own using an ancient PU truck plow. Yes I have the JD QA plates, but the skid steer plates are cheap, then just add some pins. I don't even use the 3rd function anymore. I borrow the curl circuit one a specific angle is planted. I had to get used to the length out front. Since then...

    14T baler overrunning/slip clutch removal

Yeah, I forgot about the loose needle brake issue. That's the real need. If the plunger gets stuck by the stops, that's a sound the neighbors will react to ! Good point.

JD850 with JD80 front end loader--Hydraulics issue, bucket strains to dump and has no strength

The 4 place snowmobile trailer with that hay bundle and axle positions gave me about 60 lbs of tongue load. That'a about 1/2 a tank of gas. Plenty of tire reserve capacity for stopping, and nowhere near the bump stops. Rear wire loom was already set up for trailer lights and brakes.

JD850 with JD80 front end loader--Hydraulics issue, bucket strains to dump and has no strength

Yep. That was me in my Y2K 'vette. Standard Draw-Tite bolt-on hitch was readily available. I was being passed on I-96 by a blond in a MB-250 convertible, (top down, a bit too close on the side for my comfort), I sped up to over 100 mph to keep up with her (road was 5 lanes wide btw). (which...

JD850 with JD80 front end loader--Hydraulics issue, bucket strains to dump and has no strength

Switch the couplings so that curl and lift are swapped. Then see if lifting the loader arms is a problem and curl is now ok. That should isolate the problem. BTW: I found that it was an easy conversion from the 80 loader bucket pin mounts to the JD QA system. Even the bucket lever indicator...

    14T baler overrunning/slip clutch removal

Back down the ground travel, windrow size, or sharpen the plunger and stationary knives. There is really no need to get a slip clutch involved with hay making, unless you are picking up wet clumps, old fence posts, or already baled hay. I used an 18HP Yanmar with my 14T to effortlessly bale my...

    Snap Ring Pliers.

I have a set which lets you flip it from expand to contract by moving the hinge pin. Weak link for me has always been the tips bending or breaking.

King Kutter 5 Foot Tiller Clogging Issue

Well, new ones don't arrive dull. It's not done for the dirt, but for roots, weeds, grass, etc.

King Kutter 5 Foot Tiller Clogging Issue

Sharpen the blades ! Grass isn't being cut, just pulled out by the roots. Also try backing into the furrow instead of going forward. This increases the cutting velocity a bit and gives the cut stuff another chomp. My tiller won't do it if I leave the back door completely down. If you happen...

Mixing concrete in the FEL Bucket

Be careful moving that load. That much mix + water + sand + gravel (or just the pre-mixed recipe + water), is VERY heavy. Have a lot of ballast in the back. I have a pto mixer (3x80 lb. bags at a time) that make it fun. I make 1/2 your pad size with the throat full. I need a LOT of gravel...

    John Deere or Kubota mower

I have a JD 1435 diesel, 72" front mower, 60" broom for snow removal, and I also can run a 540 rpm Winpower pto generator on it with a 3:1 geared reducer. I also have an older JD F935 same architechture that runs the same machinery. I reserve the 935 for a 76" rear discharge deck that...

which used Deere Compact tractor for mowing and snow removal

I don't think so. I recommend a 3 series with a loader. Even a previous generation 390. Power and weight gets you thru all the tasks for the property he's on. Get forks, too. More useful than a bucket. Don't recommend a belly mower. I had a 72" and to restrictive for winter operations...
