    JD Gator Manuals ?

If low compression, and restricted port in carb.- not enough vacuum to ingest fuel into the combustion chamber. Obviously so many variables- gaskets, valve seat/adjustment, valve guides etc. it was just a thought. I can’t do a compression test without knowing the numbers. On the c-60 engine, ran...

    JD Gator Manuals ?

Yes, stays full of ethanol free gas. Has filter before the carb. Sits in a new barn on concrete that’s very dry. (no moisture on anything). Once I take carb apart and clean- spray out all the ports, fires right up. I have done this probably 5-10 times. I suspect it has low compression. Doesn’t...

    JD Gator Manuals ?

I purchased a 1998 -2x4 gator used a couple years ago. It ran and started fine at purchase. I hardly use it, so naturally it never starts after setting 6 months at a time. I take the carb apart, clean & always get it running. I would like to do a rebuild on the motor. Is there a known place...

Loader JD2305 loader control stick inputs reversed

Most welcome. I have had my 2305 since new 2010. It has 900 hours on it. I work it hard but am over excessive with the maintenance. I have had only three main issues. Once it died while mowing. Figured out it would stay running if I held the key on. Blown fuse in Eng compartment ( white cover...

Loader JD2305 loader control stick inputs reversed

Just to add to the conversation. If you don’t have caps on & mow, dirt will fill up on the female quick disconnects. They’re expensive to buy but worth it. Beats spraying them clean to get male end of coupler to go back in. Never release pressure with joy stick with bucket on during storage. It...

    2305 fan belt replacement

Sorry to hear having issues. No, mine was tight also. I took all bolts out of alternator, once belt Was on, able to pull it back over an put bolt in. Maybe you could use a crowbar or board for leverage. Dang that stinks. Seriously didn’t take me maybe 10 mins.

    2305 fan belt replacement

Mine broke after 13 years, parked it, ordered one. Got all set to make a day out of it- changing it. When done, was like dang, that was to simple. Wait till you have to change the starter. That’s a real treat. Have to Jack up motor, 7 bolts off motormount plate, exhaust pipe off. Stupidest...

    2305 fan belt replacement

I replaced mine a month ago on 2305. 5 min job. Loosen alternator. Work belt around the blade, drop over pulleys, tension and tighten bolt on alternator. Easy peasy

    2305 tie rod

Yes, thought about that. Knew it would take the temper out, but nothing to loose. If it spreads again I’ll weld a new one on it.

    2305 tie rod

Thanks very much for the idea. I took it off, heated it with acetylene torch, put in my pipe vise and crimped all around it. Tight now. Zero play. Whew [emoji4]
