If a hose has been placed in service and has had oil run thru it, if it needs to be made shorter can the end be cut off and a new one put on, or does the oil make it to slippery for the fitting to hold onto, meaning I'd need to replace the hose.

Those of you with snowblowers, how are they driven? Do you have a shaft from the PTO running under the tractor to drive the auger and the fan or is it a hydraulic motor? If it's a hydraulic motor where is the oil coming from? Do you use a pto powered pump or the remote valves of the tractor?
