YOu are really pushing the limit with a 1/2 ton pickup. If you want to safely tow 10K you need a 3/4 or heavier pickup.

I have a 10" auger. this leaves room for concrete, gravel or dirt. This will also allow you to get the post strait is the hole is not quite vertical.

Are you planning on using the tractor to help you build you house. Go bigger with forks.
