    Save money by spending money?

Bad news! It doesnt fit in the space i set aside for it! I cleaned it up and checked it out. If anybody wants it i'm asking $1200 for the mill, phase converter, collets, clamps, end mills, drill chucks, and fly cutters.

    Save money by spending money?

Here's my new milling machine which was built around 1947 and rebuilt at some point between now and then according to the tag on the side. I started building my own attachments to save money but I've spent an awful lot on tools to do that :-) Securing it to the trailer was kind of hard to...

    portaband

I just got a plug in portable bandsaw that my contractor buddy owned. As borat would say "wow woo wee wow!" It is very nice! What kinds of interesting things have you all cut? My favorite so far is din rail and all thread. It's great how it doesn't booger up the first thread!

260 backhoe ditch cleaning bucket John Deere 1026r

I went with the 7014 and it welded pretty good. Every part required a small amount of hand fitting but it went together very well. I look forward to getting some action shots for you guys in a few days once it's painted.

260 backhoe ditch cleaning bucket John Deere 1026r

I've been wanting to build a ditch cleaning bucket for a while and I think a 24" is about all the 260 hoe can handle. Factory options are 8", 12", and 16". I have the 12" bucket which has a struck capacity of 0.66 cubic feet and weighs 49 lbs. The 24" bucket design should hold about 1.5 cubic...

    built a tonka trailer

I built a trailer for my son's dump truck and couldn't wait any longer to give it to him. It has fold down ramps, 4 tie down points, 2 axles with duals, and a jack which I need to weld a handle on.

Saved an arbor press from the scrap yard

You guys may like this too: It's a force gauge made for the press, but really could work for anything. The gauges are screwed into a small harbor freight cylinder with 1.5" bore. To build these you need a gauge with a 1/4" npt fitting on the end. Unscrew the hydraulic coupler on the...

Saved an arbor press from the scrap yard

We bought a 3 ton arbor press at my company and it arrived with the front half broken off. The company sent us a new one and UPS never came to pick up the old press so I spent $19 in parts and 2 hours of labor to have a new press in my garage! The bolts are 1/2" grade 5 with the shoulders...

    Unusual applications of the FEL

I used my loader to move a 300-400 lb freezer out of my grandmother's basement. It sure beat carrying it up the stairs.

    dressing up my truck

Ive just paid off my 2001 Ram 2500 diesel and i want to do some body work. It has typical chrysler rust problems that were covered up when i bought it. I had planned on installing two new front fenders and having someone cut out the cab corners and rocker panels. I can get a pretty good deal...
