Not to back up, but are you certain the problem is not just with the timer? Try leaving the tractor in gear (so it will not crank), and turn the key, to engage the starter… Does the glow plugs indicator light light up?

Starting about a year ago or so, when cold starting our TC21D, the glow plugs would only turn on intermittently. No real rhyme or reason when the glow plug light would turn on. I found a way around it. Leave the machine in gear (range), and turn the key to the start position. The glow plugs...
