'06 Montana 4340 Seat Suspension issues- Floppy!

I have a 4940C with the same seat. The plastic blocks on mine shattered as well. I made my own out of aluminum. Been working fine ever since. Your pictures show the correct position. My seat is over 15 years old and still works fine. Leather is cracked though so need some reupholstering.

Sorry for being late with the reply. It does it in neutral as well as in gear. Does it anytime you try and accelerate.

Novice wants a MIG, advise ?

I have an old (like 50 years old) Lincoln tobmstone, a gas outfit, had a Harbour Freight 120 amp MIG, a Miller AC/DC stick welder gas powered, and now have a Hobart 190 with spool gun. I'm on a ranch so have a wide variety of welding chores. My dad was foreman of the welding department at a...

    LS R4041 dying on acceleration

Got a R4041 which starts alright. When I hit the accelerator the engine dies. Replaced the fuel filter. Fuel shutoff valve works. Fuel is getting to the injectors. Not sure what is wrong. Has anyone had a similar experience? Thanks.

Where are the "older" LS Tractors?

I can tell you where one of the "old LS tractors is". It's in my yard. I have an note: LG Montana 4940C. Which is what LS used to be called back in the day. I've had it for about 15years now and it was new old stock when I bought it. It was three years old at the time. Had minor problems but...

Any way to weld the thin metal on tractors and attachments?

MIG with small gauge wire. Must be a gas machine and stitch weld it. Or carefully braze it. Brazing takes same skill level as tug though.

I recently got a G1900S with only 190 hours on it. It sat in a garage for almost 20 years..... It has a weird intermittent issue in that it won't crank. All the lights come on as well as the glow plug timer and other lights work. Then after a while of leaving it sit is will start. When it is...

Need advice on a larger chainsaw for an older guy.

I'm 75. Stihl FarmBoss is the only saw I have/use for 60 foot tall pine trees here in East Texas. I have a 22 inch bar on mine. Best chainsaw ever.... Key things with any chainsaw..keep it sharp. Don't use power grinder for sharpening. Causes too much heat. Only need four strokes on each tooth...

    Cordless Tools vs. Other Options

I have Dewalt NiCads that are over 10 years old and still work like the day I bought them. Key to NiCads is to run them to dead before recharging. You will avoid the memory effect of NiCads. I also like my Lithium batts in my other cordless tools. Like others say though when they run out they...

Will 10 Horsepower actually matter on the same size tractor?

Pick the biggest tractor then go a step higher...Sage advise given to me. I followed it and never regretted it. 10 hp definitely makes a big difference in all kinds of things besides PTO. The tractor will be heavier, so when picking up stuff with your bucket it will sure payoff. Moving round...
