Born in Oregon and lived in Portland until age 8; moved to Pocatello in 1972, and Boise in 1975.
Lived in the Boise area most of my life, other than college (Moscow, ID) and 4 years in the Army. I was a Russian Linguist and SIGINT Analyst (MOS 98C) with Army Intelligence from 1988-1992. I went to Russia in the winter of 1991-92 as a temporary diplomatic courier, and we were next door (in Helsinki, Finland) when the Soviet Union collapsed in December 1991.
I consider myself a fourth-generation Idahoan, as my great-grandparents came from New York to Henry's Lake, ID in about 1890. Even my step-dad's family has been in Silver City, ID since the early 1900s.
I moved my family (wife and four kids) from Nampa, ID to Sandpoint, ID (30 minutes from Canada) in autumn 2012, and we're NOT going back!
I finished my BS in Business Administration in December, 2012 (30 years after starting college!), and now work as a Business Intelligence Analyst at the Kootenai, ID-located HQ of a nationwide clothing retailer.
Homesteading, forestry, sport shooting, and most of all, my wife and kids -- family trumps all!
