GC 2300 Wont Start (need to by pass the safety switch to test)

My GC 2300 overheats after about 3 hrs of mowing. Obviously I shut it off, clean all of the screens, leave the hood open and let cool off before attempting to continue mowing. Sadly, it then won't start until the next morning! When I attempt to start after it overheating, the fuel pump...

Today, would you buy an EV vehicle.

That may be happening now, but when will it be economically viable? Not any time soon I bet and how will we know that it will be environmentally safer than what we are now using? To my mind, if some government official isn't going to get rich from the new technology it will sit on the back...

Today, would you buy an EV vehicle.

China, Afghanistan, North Korean and other lithium producing countries don't seem to be our friends! Do you wish to be at the mercy of those countries? Hydrogen is more plentiful, easier to obtain and produces no harmful waste products. Yes, it is explosive, so is gasoline, alcohol and...

    Mowing Steep Hills

I used to have an old (60s era) Gravely with a rear mounted Kohler engine that my 16 yo son used to think was a go-cart. I've got lots of steep hills and he never flipped it but somehow managed to flip the Massey sub compact tractor I replaced it with. You will probably have trouble finding an...

    Lawn Roller fill

What's a flat lawn? 76 years old and have never seen one! I quit trying to get one flat or even close to it years ago. A real exercise in futility. S

I have a Massey Ferguson 1533 year 2006 It's is overheating to a the max and past I replaced the Thermostat flush the sytem with water What else

I'm riding a 2005 GC2300 that does the same thing. On my tractor the air is pulled in from the rear of the motor housing. My solution is to keep an old paint brush on the tractor and when the screens on the housing(right in front of you and on the sides) gets about 30% clogged brush them clean...

City kids do not leave keys in vehicles. . . It’s different out here...

I leave the keys in my hunk of crap hoping someone will steal it as it's covered by my home owners insurance. But out here I would never be that lucky and if someone did try to steal it they probably couldn't get it started anyhow. Sam

1710 engine stalls, I really need your assistance

I'm not familiar with the 1710, but IF it's a gas powered engine it sounds a whole lot the problems I experienced when I blew the head gasket on my car after the water pump failed and the engine overheated. I would up having to get the head milled flat again as it warped from the high temps...

Who actually makes the tractor and whose engine and transmission does it carry?

He said the same company that makes appliances, but who knows they may have the same parent as the electronics folks.

Who actually makes the tractor and whose engine and transmission does it carry?

I spent some time with an LS Salesman a couple of months back and he told me that the parent company is LG, the appliance manufacturer. Knowing that you can't get service on LG products easily I decided against the tractor and kept my pos Massey.

Cold weather start, with glow plugs and block heater. Why does my tractor not start at minus 20 C?

I too have a Massey Fergusson that hates to start when it's just cold, above 0(F). I've got the digital jump starter, using 5-20 semi-syn oil and still no luck without having to move my truck to the shed where I keep the #$$&**! tractor. I've ordered battery warmers for the &*$#!!! thing. My...

    Drill Press Cross-Feed Table

GO SLOW AND use SHALLOW CUTS!!!! Most drill press chucks are held on by a Morse taper. If you take a deep cut with your end mill it is very possible the chuck and taper will twist off and if they wind up on the floor you may have to buy a new end mill. Mills and mill/drills use an R8 collet...

Buying Advice Is it possible to go too big?

Paul, DO NOT START with a beginner size unless you like spending money on tractors. Figure out what you think you need, I can't help you with that, that buy 1 size larger as you will figure out a way to use the extra power quickly. Sam (CRNA)

    The color of tractors

In my experience Massey dealers are as good as any other, the Massey company however shows little respect for customers and I've found their factory service advisors arrogant, their manuals vague and incomplete. The dealership I bought my Massey from went bankrupt shortly after I purchased my...

Help Choosing Machine for First Timer- Big Lawn, Long Driveway

I'm mowing 3.5 acres, all hills and snowplowing a 300 ft driveway, also a hill, but paved. Each task takes about 4 hours. I'm using a 27hp diesel sub compact tractor and dearly wish I could afford something with more hp and a cab. Your weather can't be a whole lot different than mine, but the...
