Does it matter if FEL is attached when changing hydraulic/HST fluid and filters?

Title is pretty much my question. Also, should FEL be raised (to help drain old fluid from it, cycling control lever while draining) or down on the ground when I pull the drain plug?

    New water pump leaks

So I just replaced the water pump on my TC29D after removing radiator first. When I got it all back together and filled up, I ran it a bit and saw it had a slow leak. It seems to be leaking from the new pump gasket, a slow drip. I don't know if I didn't tighten it enough, the gasket got kinked...

TC29D water pump replacement info needed

I need to replace my water pump and was looking for some pointers. I've heard it can be done without removing the radiator. Is this true? How many bolts hold the pump to the engine and what size wrench do I need? Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Roy

    TC29D - What is this hole/bolt?

Under the tractor, on the center-line between the transmission drain plug and the spline shaft for the front axle there is a hole/bolt. I say that because it was a threaded hole when I discovered it, but since it is threaded, I'm assuming there should be a bolt/plug in it. I can't find any...

    NH TC29 power steering problem

I had to remove the power steering pipe from the pump to the steering wheel to have it reflanged. No problem. I topped off my power steering fluid and the steering works but is sloppy and can be difficult to turn. It's usable, but annoying and hard to maintain a straight line or a smooth turn...

    TC25/29/33D power steering pipe part

Looking for part #/price of a TC29D power steering pipe. It is the one that goes from pump to steering wheel. Thanks. It's a 1998 or 99.

    Power steering leak

My 2001 NH TC-29D is squirting PS oil out where the outlet pipe connects to the pump. I tightened the fitting and it still does this. It just started happening out of the blue. Even with the engine off and no pressure, it drip, drip, drips even after sitting all night long. I'm perplexed by...

Mowing  Mulching blades for a 930 mower

I need to replace the blades on my 930B and I'm thinking about mulching blades. I have them on my little walk behind mower and they seem to work great, as long as the grass isn't too long. Does anyone have experience with these? Does anyone even make them? All comments would be appreciated. Roy

Anyone ever replace rear axle seal on a TC?

I need to replace the rear axle seal on my TC29D and was looking for any advice, either on doing the procedure or the cost to have it done by someone else. I've looked at the Exploded parts diagram and it looks like a good bit of work. I would like to get a service manual, but at $300, thats a...

    Quality of various aftermarket companies

Is there any consensus among the members here as to brands that are generally thought to be of good quality and, more importantly, brands to definitely stay away from? The only aftermarket attachment I have is a Leinbach 8' rake. It is built like a tank compared to some brands I see at TSC and...

Is there such a thing as mulching blades for a 930B?

I've seen some discussion of mulching blades in non-NH forums. Is there such a thing for us? If not, anyone know of a good place for new blades? Approximately how much do they cost? I've got the blades off of my 930B for routine sharpening, and I'm thinking it may be time for new ones with...

    Foam filled vs solid tires

I need to either (re)foam-fill my 3pt finish mower's tires or replace them with solid ones. I am not sure what the solid ones would do to my lawn though. They look like they would leave slight ruts. Anyone having success with solid tires on lawn?

    Fuel filter prices

I was led to this website while performing a Google search on the part number for the filter. The specific post I was brought to is here . What I'd love to know is where you can buy fuel filters for $3.45! I can't find them for less than $7+, which is rediculous for that tiny little piece of...
