I have a 460 utility, pto unit is bad, I have found one that is out of a 560 diesel can anyone tell me if these would be the same unit

I have a IH 460 Gas utility tractor, it wasn't keeping the battery charged I polarized the generator and it started charging but every time I shut it off I have to polarize the generator. I've checked the wiring diagram and it is wired up right. If anyone has any ideas please let me know.
