Took the pitman stick off of my John Deere 8W sickle mower to check for cracks and when I put it back on, I had trouble compressing the spring. Ultimately the spring expanded and broke the spring socket drilled into the end of the wooden pitman (some irony there... ), so I ordered another one...

Have a class 1 tractor (Kioti 3054) and just bought a used class 2 sickle cutter which has 1 1/8' pins. What is recommended to convert? Was looking at Pat's device - are the hooks on the class one version large enough to support 1 1/8" pins? Any other recommendations?
