Recommendations/Warnings - Cub Cadet ZTXS5 Series ZT Mowers

We have had the CC ZT with steering wheel for several years now. I've used both types of ZT's. For the inexperienced the steering wheel makes it easy to use and is easier to navigate hilly terrain horizontally.

    CX2510 or CK2620 for 10ac

No you are not overthinking it. I would get the 2620 for the reasons you already raised.

Pulled the trigger on a new 2024 Kioti Dk4720 SE cab

Good luck with your purchase. My DK45 bought new in 2005 has been a workhorse. I too looked hard at Kubota and Deere. No complaints on those machines but the Kioti at the time had more features for less money. Based on my success my Sister's family now has 3 Kioti's as well.

Recommendations for wood chipper for small material

I just bought a WoodMaxx MX-8600. Have 8.1 hours on it now. Great machine very pleased with the purchase. They make some stand alone models as well. The quality and build integrity of the machine stands out IMO vs some others. They also offer a Veteran discount. I had an 8HP Simplicity prior...

    massey 50hx battery replacement?

FYI CCA of 340 is not much. Measure the battery tray since you don't have a reference. NAPA, AutoZone, Batteries Plus, and the local dealer would be helpful I'm sure. You would probably be best served by replacing the cables and cleaning up the ground at the same time. Good luck.

    Woodchippers: PTO vs gasoline driven

That is a machine for sure. I looked into renting a 6" chipper $350+ a day. A 12" was 500+ a day. Hence, my decision to purchase the WoodMaxx MX-8600. Plus we use all of the wood chips we can in our horse paddock and walk throughs. Nice set up there!

    Woodchippers: PTO vs gasoline driven

It's not what I want to believe. People have visited the US factory and have seen the raw material, even using US steel, and the manufacturing processes, eventually resulting into a finished product. I did my research as well as talking to them before purchasing. I'm not putting my mitts on your...

    Woodchippers: PTO vs gasoline driven

Agree. With all the storm damage we've had here in SE Michigan on my property, even with two permanent burn piles we use on our 10 acres, a chipper became a necessity. At least the insurance money paid for it from the last storm. We use an extensive amount of chips in the horse paddock so it...

    Woodchippers: PTO vs gasoline driven

    See my post #27.
  10. Q

    Woodchippers: PTO vs gasoline driven

Incorrect. The DC & WM series are Chinese. The MX series are made in the USA. "WoodMaxx patented MX-Series wood chippers are proudly designed, engineered and manufactured in the USA at our Akron, NY facility".

    Woodchippers: PTO vs gasoline driven

By the sound of that chipper, and struggling a bit even with that much HP, it must not have much of a rotor. My WoodMaxx MX-8600 never showed any sign similar to what is in the video. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised at the lack of "input" to my tractor.

    Oil Change intervals?

My Kioti recommends 150 hour intervals. Mine has been changed every 75 since new as that about averages the yearly usage. I always go into winter with fresh oil & filter. Each to their own. Correction: My Kioti states oil change at 100 hours and filter every 150. Never understood the staggered...

    Woodchippers: PTO vs gasoline driven

I just bought and used for 3.6 hours a WoodMaxx MX-8600 (6"). It runs behind my Kioti DK45 with 38 PTO HP. Extremely impressive machine. Made in the USA, Veteran owned, and after having used a manual feed and straight hydraulic systems in the past will say the hydrostatic feed system is a game...

    Chipper WoodMaxx Mx-8600

Yep plan on doing what you suggested. I use Fluid Film on the knives. I'll also change the oil & filter at 10 hours. Thx

    Chipper  WoodMaxx Mx-8600

Just got this to clean up all the storm damage in the past year around the homestead. Was going to cost almost double for someone else to do it. Insurance only pays for damage to structures all other tree debris they consider maintenance. At least the insurance money paid for this. This machine...
