Tires look brand new, but are 11 years old. Keep or discard?

My experience with 3 blowouts seems to be heat related. Outside air at time of 3 different blowout events was 108F, 102F, and 98F. Two RV's and one dump trailer. Happened over a 20 year period but I don't drive RV's in afternoon heat anymore. Not sure what the age of the tires was, but...

My friend Benjamin is quite persuasive ... 😃

Tires look brand new, but are 11 years old. Keep or discard?

Found this comparison ... looks like an acceptable substitution. The F-800 is off road only, 10mph tops, so I'm tempted. A lot of work swapping all the tires around, but the price of new tires includes haul away of old-- so I might as well have the worst ones hauled away ...

Tires look brand new, but are 11 years old. Keep or discard?

I may have a solution on how to repurpose my old tires and get some more use out of them. My F-800 dump/scissor lift truck never leaves the ranch. Offroad use only. It uses 11-22.5 tires and they are in poor condition. After a little research, it looks like I could put my former 295/80R tires...

Tires look brand new, but are 11 years old. Keep or discard?

That is interesting, but I don't know if there are any implications or potential issues from changing an 80R tire size to a 75R tire size? I looked at the tires in the link, and noticed the weight rating of most were about 800# less load per tire. Times 8 tires, thats over 6,000# if I read that...

Tires look brand new, but are 11 years old. Keep or discard?

Good idea, thanks. I can check around, but can't wait long for some to show up-- buyers are "kicking the tires" right now. If I take the current ones off, the only use I've found so far is to promote catfish spawning. Of all things...

Tires look brand new, but are 11 years old. Keep or discard?

I'm talking with potential buyers. I am getting a *LOT* of feedback from truck operators that they won't touch my 11 year old tires with a 10 foot pole. They want me to replace them, or credit them so they can get it done. Some are worried of personal liability if they were hauling a load, blew...

Tires look brand new, but are 11 years old. Keep or discard?

I have 8 truck tires-- size 295/80R22.5 Load range H. They look brand new, have under 1,000 miles on them, but are 11 years old. They have been mounted on a truck that has been rarely used, stored indoors, and only occasionally driven. People are telling me to throw the tires away and replace...

    Equipment security cameras

I am extremely leery of that site. Here have been my observations: - There is a constant marketing push to buy from "Andy" at "EmpireTech." But, last I knew, "Andy" sources Chinese cameras, (usually Dahau brand), then inserts different firmware into the camera to claim added "special" features...

Equipment/strategies to locate a break in underground PVC piping?

I have been thinking along these lines. Although I've used the GPS in my Polaris for altitude measurement, I have doubts about its accuracy based on simply driving around and observing. I obtained a much higher quality GPS unit and will spend time tomorrow driving around and taking some samples...

Equipment/strategies to locate a break in underground PVC piping?

I considered pressurizing with an air compressor and listening for hissing and/or leaks, but it seems doing that is highly recommended. Something to do with making a bomb out of the pipe.

Equipment/strategies to locate a break in underground PVC piping?

Somewhere, unknown, is a cracked or broken pipe compromising the pressure in my gravity irrigation system. The piping is 2 feet sub-grade, in well draining loamy soil, so water is not pooling anywhere on the surface. There are also some natural springs in the pastures. That is going to...

    Polaris or CF Moto?

I recently shopped CF Moto, Polaris, and CanAm. I agree the price for CF Moto was much less. I pretty quickly ruled out CF Moto because I wanted a model with an integrated cab and HVAC. CF Moto didn't have one as of a few months ago-- yet it was "coming soon" while I was shopping and I believe...

    Determining home equity loan value

You are in the strongest position if you sell your current property independently of trying to tangle it into the "next purchase" and juggle two properties at once. It would be hugely convenient for *you* to juggle one into the other, presuming everything went perfectly, but the reality is...
