    Wood chippers

I’ve got a woodland mills 6”. I chip mostly mesquite with a new Holland 33hp. Most of the stuff I do is 4” or less and it does great. It’s got a smaller flywheel than the rest but the only time it let me down was as my clutch was going out in the tractor, I just had to chip smaller brush. The...

    TC33 Starter Problem

MYSTERY SOLVED! Thank you everyone for giving me your time and efforts, y’all are truly awesome. I went out and took another look at where I colored the ring gear and starter with the sharpie. Again I could not see any wear on either side, I even looked at the tape (just blue painters tape)...

    TC33 Starter Problem

Great idea I’ll try that tomorrow. No on the 180°. It won’t fit. Also, It’s installed that way on the diagrams.

    TC33 Starter Problem

No the engine does not turn when the starter is activated. I can turn the engine by hand. I colored the ring gear with a sharpie and there’s no signs of the starter touching it. I did remove the flywheel to change the pilot bearing but I marked it before I took it off and lined up the marks when...

    TC33 Starter Problem

Ok here’s the results Ignition off -0amps Ignition on -1.64amp Old starter on- 85amp Old off -73amp New on -72 New off -47 Glow plugs on 32 and decreasing to 23 after about 10 sec Starter off the tractor was hooked directly to battery and on was connected to the tractors harness. One other...

    TC33 Starter Problem

Ok I think I’ve done this right. My starter is 1.7kw 1700/12=142. So my question is, would 142 be the max or the rated amps for the starter? As of now I’m pulling half or less than that.

    TC33 Starter Problem

As if I don’t have enough difficulty trying to figure this mess out, one more issue that might be playing a role in this. My tractor is actually a TC33S. The best I can tell it’s a mid level model between the TC33 and TC33D. So, as I’m going through the wiring checking for any anomalies, and my...

    TC33 Starter Problem

I’ve got one on my multi meter it’s drawing a max of 78amps. Do you know where can I find the spec on this? Turning on the glow plugs draws about 30ish amps. When I disconnect the glow plug relay starting draws about 50 amps.

    TC33 Starter Problem

I’ve done that, I’ve isolated the starter from the tractors wiring and still have the same issue. The only way I can get the old or new one to function properly is if it’s physically off the tractor

    TC33 Starter Problem

I’ve done that already. I didn’t use a switch but I connected the bat + to the starter like it should be and the - from battery to the starter mounting bolt. I used a separate wire clipped to the + battery terminal and touched the other end to the starter solenoid where the switch would connect...

    TC33 Starter Problem

No the fuse only blew when I had the jumper cable connected from the - batt to the starter mounting bolt AND I would run the starter for several seconds (10 sec +/-). I was running the starter for a longer time to check the voltage. As the voltage would drop (up to 1v) that’s when the fuse...

    TC33 Starter Problem

With regard to the battery cables. Last year I replaced both because the tractor would only activate the solenoid. I thought it was a dead battery but I changed the cables first which ended up being the issue. The tractor has custom battery cables ($150) that plug into the harness the previous...

    TC33 Starter Problem

After I changed out the + wire I figured it was a ground issue. At first, I forgot to disconnect the ground from the battery and connected a jumper cable from the battery to the starter mounting bolt, with same results, however, I started blowing the 30amp main fuse. I disconnected the the...

    TC33 Starter Problem

Well, I’m officially out of ideas. I’ve had both starters tested and they’re both good. I changed out the battery cables with new ones. I was thinking maybe somehow I screwed up the wiring when I replaced the relays but here’s the most mind boggling thing: I pulled the starter, connected the +...

    TC33 Starter Problem

Ok barely any voltage drop on the + and had .8 on the - side. I loosened and retightened the - and got a little better reading but not much. Now I keep blowing fuses like nobody’s biz. So apparently the plate that the starter bolts to must not be providing the ground it needs. I’m going to get...
