Looking at a new TYM T574 Cab model

I have a Branson 5520CH, which I think is the same tractor you are looking at. I have over 800 trouble free hours on mine. The Hydro is nice if you are doing a lot of loader work going forward/reverse constantly, otherwise it is a bit of a pain. I hate the hydro whine, but it makes it so my...

    Hardie Board Siding?

My thoughts only: Your siding looks like solid wood planks, probably at least 1/2 inch thick. If you were to rip it off you would need to replace it with some sort of wood backing, probably 1/2 inch OSB. Why rip it off to replace it with an inferior product if there is nothing wrong with it...

    Robot mowers

I'm intrigued. We just got a robot vacuum and love it. Anybody have a model they recommend? I would use it around my house and in the fenced backyard where I can't get my tractor around easily. Not a lot of area, a 1/2 acre at most.

    Re-decking Gooseneck Trailer

    I've ordered 20 footers from HomeDepot/Lowes before--although this was pre-covid.

    Leasing my Land

This is definitely a good deal for you. I lease land a little south of you. I pay from $0.00 per acre to $30.00 per acre. The average is probably about the $15 you are being offered. I only pay the $30 an acre because it is next to some land I own and the convenience is worth it. Having...

    What's your go-to rubber farm/rural boot?

I wear rubber boots 6 months out of the year. I have tried them all up to about $170 a pair. I haven't found any that last more than 3-4 months. The expensive ones don't last any longer than the cheap ones. I typically buy whatever is cheapest at Amazon or Tractor Supply now.

    Extra step - knee helper

I had a similar problem. Got a folding step similar to this and tied a rope to it. Get in the tractor and pull it up by the rope. https://www.amazon.com/Folding-Step-Stool-Lightweight-Bathroom/

Long term planning of selling your home?

I think this is the best advice. Focus on the where to move not the when. Decide where you want to retire to and start looking with the idea that when you find the perfect place you will buy it--whether that takes 1 year or 10 years. Knowing you are going to the perfect place will make...

Buying new JD 5075E or Kubota M4D-071

I don't know the weight of the Kubota, but I use my 5055e for moving hay as well and weight is a must. I also have a Branson 5520 which is roughly the same horsepower, but it has a shorter wheelbase and is really unstable moving hay bales. My bales are 5x5, sometimes 5.5x5.5 and the JD moves...

New Diesel Truck-- Buy Now, or Wait?

What happened to those thousands of pandemic trucks that were sitting around in lots waiting for computer chips?

    Bulk Feed Trailer

When I'm feeding I use about 1000 lbs of feed a week. I tried to use a feed wagon similar to what you are thinking about that held 5000 lbs. By the time I was getting to the end of the load the feed would start getting moldy and clumped together. Ended up costing more in wasted feed and time...

Pallet forks to move round bales

I have a bale spear and still probably use pallet forks to move mine about 70% of the time. It seems I always have the wrong attachment on and am too lazy to take the time to switch them. Just spread them wide and go under the bale. Don't try to pierce the bale like a spear, which I initially...

You don't see the replies from all the guys that have fallen off over the years. I call a roofer.

Some kind of long term dumpster without heavy rent charges? Buy one cheap?

I had a similar situation when I bought some property. Previous owner was a handyman/remodeler and would dump construction debris all over the property. Everything from old roofing and tile to old couches. I hauled out 5 30 yard dumpsters of trash over 9 months. I just made a big pile in a...
